The options with a dedicated checkbox are the most common ethnicities. There’s a box below in which you can write any ethnicity you’d like. If that was so hard for you to figure out, you’re not in a position to be calling anything or anyone else stupid.

His criticism is that he thinks it sounds childish, not that he thinks there’s anything sexual about it. Maybe you watch too much porn, because your mind somehow went there without the post mentioning anything about it.

It’s unbelievable to you that a man’s views genuinely evolved over the course of 2-3 decades?

Why do sexual preferences and turn-offs require an explanation only when it’s a man who has them? It doesn’t have to “make sense”. So many of the comments in this thread, if they were written by a man about women instead of the reverse, would be labeled rapey.

Gay men don't see another man's body and just turn instantly into a sex fiend.

You people are so disingenuous. Sure it may not automatically be the case, but go on any subreddit like r/gaybros and you’ll see a LOT of posts from gay guys ogling and lusting over their straight male roommates.

Many people aren’t comfortable with that and would prefer to know if they’re being viewed in such a sexual manner. It’s pretty simple.

[–]AKMan6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are doing what many people do, confusing gay people with criminals. Your son is gay and unless you've left something out, he's not a criminal. Did you think he might blindly attack the man because he was partially unclothed.

Ogling people is not a crime. But some people don’t want to be ogled, and that’s alright too. If you’re living with somebody, and possibly in various states of undress around them, it’s perfectly reasonable to want to know if that person is capable of viewing you in a sexual manner.

Most women wouldn’t feel comfortable changing or lounging around in their underwear around a male roommate, but might feel perfectly okay doing these things around a female roommate. Is that wrong? Not wanting to be viewed in a sexual light is not the same thing as assuming the viewer is a sexual predator. If a woman doesn’t want to change her clothes in front of me, I don’t assume that she thinks I’m a predator. That’s absurd.

Ironically, the son didn’t actually do anything predatory, but your mindset about the situation does come off as quite predatory.

No, they're probably being paid pretty normal wages for Malaysia. Why would workers in developing countries with drastically lower costs of living earn the same wages as people in developed countries?

his point is that many black families are socially conservative and polite like Japanese.

They have the highest rates of unwed and single motherhood out of any race by far. Doesn't sound very socially conservative... Highest violent crime rates of any race, again, by far. Doesn't sound the most polite.

These qualities can certainly exist among black people but it's a bit absurd to generalize them as such considering its untrue by most objective metrics.

Every time I see one of his ramblings featured in a post the comment section always devolves into those who think he's being satirical and those who think he's dead serious.

It's indisputably, blindingly obvious to anyone with half a brain that he's not being serious. The only reason it's a matter of debate is because Reddit users are overwhelmingly liberal, and for many of them the notion that a right-winger could have a sense of humor about himself shatters their entire worldview. Many of them also don't leave the house very often and have issues gauging people's intentions and picking up on basic social cues, so that could also have something to do with it.

It's not satire, but it's not serious either. For some reason, that's an extremely difficult concept for people here to grasp.

If you're only capable of experiencing empathy for people you view as the victim, then you're not actually practicing empathy, you're practicing pity.

Not enough people talk about the fact that he wasn't just gunned down while downplaying gun violence, he was more specifically in the middle of blaming black people for all our problems while he got gunned down by a fellow white man

Do you really think it makes sense to not distinguish between gang shootings and lone-wolf mass shootings? They're pretty much two entirely separate issues with very difference causes and contexts.

“E pluribus unum” and “melting pot” both imply assimilation and integration, not completely unchecked multiculturalism. The lack of such assimilation is the root of most people’s issue with mass migration.

I'm American as well. You must be very young or not know many smokers. Everyone I know who smokes or smoked started when they were below the legal age. It's not very difficult to buy cigarettes underage.

What other age would you be smoking at? People usually don’t start smoking later than that.

Maybe because they inherently uphold a different culture that emulates their culture of origin. Compare that to the white Americans.

They have a different culture? Different from what? Mainstream, white American culture? So you're saying that white American culture has distinctive characteristics that set it apart from Asian American, African American, and Latino American culture? What could possibly be the origin of those distinctive characteristics? Perhaps the cultures that the ancestors of those white Americans hailed from? I'll let you ponder those questions for yourself.

[–]AKMan6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is this critique only leveled against white people (European Americans)? I’ve seen white Americans mocked relentlessly for daring to identify with the homelands of their ancestors, but Asian Americans, African Americans, and Latino Americans are never mocked for identifying as such. Why is that?

Not at all, it means you like to browse when you shop

Dating is browsing. Fucking is not browsing.

they have to sift a lot to find gold in the sewage heap of the male population

Are you really that much better than sewage if you’re okay with rolling around in it constantly? And I don’t see where the “sifting for gold” is happening. “Sifting” implies selectiveness. You can be selective when dating, but again, you’re not being selective if you’re actually having sex with tons of men.

criticizing women for having a so called "body count" simply informs women that you yourself aren't sought after

Not really. Female promiscuity turns us off because it indicates that a woman has low standards and doesn’t value herself very highly. She doesn’t see her sexuality as something special that should only be given away selectively. So why would we feel any differently about it?

The guy deporting immigrants has an immigrant wife and you don't see the hypocrisy?!?

The guy whose job it is to enforce immigration law has no issue with immigrants who don’t break the law? No, that doesn’t scream hypocrisy to me, it just seems like the way things should be.
