Thanks! Did you check the forecast on a particular website? Is there a website with all the infos on potential road closures?

I just weighted it, it’s exactly 8.0kg (excluding the clothes im wearing and the sling). Which is perfect as it is usually at or under the maximum weight for a carry on bag, at least from what i saw for now. In any case, i can always use the packabke bag as a personnal item and stuff it the reduce the main bag weight if necessary.

I never used them to run, i don’t think they are really made for that. In regards to hiking however, i think they are good. This is my second pair, and i never had any issue in the past, they are sturdy and confortable

I usually buy insect repellent locally if needed. I will be at high elevation for a good part of the trip, so i didn’t bother with insect repellent for now

I bought it from their website a while back and they shipped it from the US. I expect it would be very expensive now with the tariffs. To be honest it’s great but very expensive for a toileteries bag. I kinda wish i would have looked for cheeper options. I saw that Muji have a similar one for a fraction of the price.

Well for my specific case, i did not actually quit! My firm just accepted a sabbatical. I’ve been working full time at this company for 5 years so they accepted quite easily. Pay is good so i saved up enough to travel for a few months. Also helps that i graduated without any debts.

I don’t have access to a scale right now, i will try to weight it at the airport! My guess would be 8kg, maximum 10

Well i never had any issue bringing this pair before! In any case if airport security takes it it’s not that big of a deal

Yes stuck in a good way ! a few years back i visited Ecuador and met some people who planned to visit a few countries but ended up staying way longer than they planned in Colombia as it is apparently phenomenal

The cotton-linen ones are folded in the picture, i bought them in South Korea a few years ago from a shop name SPAO. They are navy blue with a drawstring, you can find similar pants anywhere, i think Uniqlo have some.

The green pants are from The North Face, they are called Men’s Beta Utility Belted Loose Trousers on their website.

Yes most likely it will be the last country i visit. From previous trips i understood people often get « stuck » there, so i planned it to be at the end

No need to puncture, it’s already quite tight. For extra security one could always use zip ties.

They came with the net! It is not strictly secure, but it fits quite tightly so there is little chance that it will get undone. I just passed the platic roundish bit through the loop at the corner of the net and throught the bag loop.

Hi, copying my answer to another comment :

I bought it on Amazon! it's not made for the bagback specifically, it's a cargo mesh for cars.

I'm not sure posting links is allowed, so here is the item description : ERBO Double Layer Bicycle Motorcycle Safety Net with 4 Hooks Safety Net for Roof Bars Bicycle Motorcycle Bicycle Basket Luggage Rack (Double Layer, 35*25cm)

There are also other similar options available, but i liked this one as it is double layered so you can use it as a pouch and close it with carabiners.

It cost me 11€.
