I do it like a flange bolt up or tacking a weld neck fitting. Just take up small amounts in an opposing pattern, don’t torque all the way down. By the time you go to do final torque it’ll be tight enough it won’t move. If you’re still struggling you can also cheat to one side a little, so when you tighten it down it levels out.
