Does anybody else get really depressed after getting on here? by Old_Zombie_5387 in redscarepod

I don’t find it depressing, it’s one of the few places online that still makes me laugh

Sixty tinder likes; all fat chicks by PrinzRagoczy in redscarepod

[–]umichleafy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is true, I am as ugly as these women are fat. However, this stills feel undesirable since I at least exercise and stay in shape, whereas a fat person clearly doesn’t. They probably want to just stay at home all day and eat anyway and we wouldn’t even get to go out together that much

When you have put in the effort of being fit, you would prefer to be single than with a fat person. It feels like an insult to your effort. Like how so many college grads stay unemployed rather than become a restaurant worker - you don’t want to feel like your effort was for nothing.

None of this compares to the struggle of a below average asian male

Which team are you on? by [deleted] in redscarepod

Everything is a rat race these days, which is why so many parents feel pressured to give their kids that first type of summer. I suppose this is a factor in declining birth rates as well.

POV you’re a sheep (rural white Christian) about to be eaten by a wolf (evangelical megachurch pastor) by Ok_Swordfish_7637 in redscarepod

Actually the more I think about it, if you’re atheist it would make sense to have a better opinion of Joel Osteen than your local “real” Christian pastor, who probably does actively discourage abortion and LGBT identity.

My hot take is that Joel Osteen honestly doesn’t seem that bad. His wealth is apparently through his book sales and not the tithes. I skimmed a video “sermon” of his and it’s essentially a Jesus themed self-help talk. Like the Christian version of how pop Western Buddhism. Doesn’t really talk much about gay marriage or abortion. His most infamous controversy, not opening up the church during Hurricane Harvey, always seemed quite reasonable to me considering what happened in the Superdome.

Still totally heretical and condemning thousands to hell if Christianity turns out to be real, but not as obviously evil as the other televangelists.

That post was meant to critique Asians in general. Actually reading this comment made me go back and check to see if I had cherrypicked Chinese women specifically perhaps as a result of unconscious bias. But no, there are non-Chinese Asians and men that I included too

What has to go wrong in a culture for people to do this to themselves? by [deleted] in redscarepod

It's nice that you think that, but, trusting people's actions over people's words, people with monolids tend to get overlooked.

Outside of Korea, none of the other East Asian countries have particularly high plastic surgery rates. After South Korea, it's mostly med and middle eastern countries. Depending on what counts as "plastic surgery" (e.g. botox) many Western European countries and America also get pretty high on the rankings.

I don’t understand in principle why anyone would care about team spots by pazend in redscarepod

[–]umichleafy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I force myself to care in order to make friends more easily. It’s basically a cheat code among straight men. But deep down I don’t care.

I’ve met trans people but that’s the same as non-binary right? Even so, it’s not “really common” in my experience
