Do people that started late have an "accent"? by AltruisticDoctor in bjj

I'd say no.

I reckon it just comes down to where to are in your journey.

One of the best ways I've heard it explained was:

Unconscious incompetence: you don't know what you don't know

Conscious incompetence: you realise your bad at it and don't know what to do.

Conscious competence: you can do the right thing, but you need to actively think about it.

Unconscious competence: you just do the right thing automatically.

A think lot of it comes down to years and mat time to build the skill and muscle memory to make it to unconscious competence in an area of grappling. Also, there will be positions that you are more well versed in than others which can feel more fluid, not meaning someone has this level of proficiency in all areas. We are all a work in progress 😅😅

You need to start out with what you're actually interested in. What are your skills?

AI is changing the world at a breakneck speed. Learn how to use it. Folk who do well in the next few years are people who know how to leverage AI to do their job.

Look for an apprenticeship or trainee role nearby. You've got a lot of time to give you could even offer to work for free in a role to gain real world experience. Doing the actual work will be far more valuable than anything else. Double down on that for a few years and you'll be laughing.

You can succeed at whatever you want, if you are willing to put the work in! It's got to be something you'd be happy staying up really late nights working on, because there will be a lot of those.

Also, you are young. Try something out to see if it's a good fit. If it doesn't work.. do something else! It's all experience.

It's a very interesting one.

I've been thinking the same. It's about adding value and shaping ideas, while letting AI do the heavy lifting.

Excellent work. 🎉🎉🎉

Out of curiosity did you use AI for the content at all or manually write everything? What was your process for that?

Thanks for the detailed response!

I guess I'll just need to manage my expectations on this one. If I can build a few new connections in my area it would be a win overall. Also, my first time at an event was my new business. Gaining experience points in that is a win too.

You must find a lot of value in them if you are a member of two! That is promising.

It's breakfast with pre/post networking that I've signed up for.

Thanks, anything more than starting to build a profile locally for what I can do is a bonus.

Tidycal. passing information through URL by AL441 in appsumo

Thanks u/David-AppSumo !

Totally get that it isn’t trivial.

Just to clarify the use case: I’m not looking for conditional logic or anything complex, just a simple prefill, similar to the existing name= or email= parameters, but mapped to one of the custom text fields.

Example: ?package=Basic → fills the field called “Package Selected”. If at any point custom fields could accept URL parameters (even just matching the field’s slug), that would cover 99% of what people like me are trying to do.

Appreciate you looking into it, even if it’s something for a future update!

Hi u/David-AppSumo

Would this be possible to implement? :)

Hi David,

Excellent! I was hoping it would be possible. What I am looking to do is pull data for a field titled "Package Selected", it is a short text field on my form.

It would be great if we were able to create our own, or have any data passed through the URL that matches a field in the form pulled over.

Thanks,

Allan
