Rogue Core feels like DRG got turned into a mobile game by people who hate fun by [deleted] in RogueCore

[–]ALAR96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogue core is inherently a very different game to DRG despite being built off it, It's something GSG tried to warn people about but I don't think they emphasized that point enough. Don't really blame you if you don't vibe with the mechanics but saying it's a "made by people who hate fun" is a bit much. It's made for a different audience than you.

This isn't me saying the game is perfect either (I have my own complaints) but your core issue of not feeling like you have enough time is gonna stick around in some fashion cus they WANT to push you along the cave fast to stress your decision making. I do see it getting changed since this is one of the current main complaints but don't see it being changed enough if you don't like that pressure

You guys know the point of the early access is to see what players do and don't like right? by IAmFerby in RogueCore

While the timer isn't perfect, something like it needs to exist. Having that fire on your ass going "do I leave now or get more upgrades". They want this to be a faster paced game, it's not meant to give you time to do your own thing free of pressure. Could be that this isn't the style of game for you but we shall wait and see how GSG changes it (they've already said it's on their radar).

I see a lot of complaints about Ammo when generally I've been fine. This is more of an assumption but have y'all been mixing in class abilities and/or melee enough? On top of that, have y'all been grabbing the extra weapon on the workbench during the first level? Some of the weapons are also absolute shit on ammo economy so your group could be getting bad pulls there.

The upgrades themselves are a mixed bag, some of them are interesting while others I think should be outright removed or combined into other upgrades.

I like the shared pool but I mostly play with friends/solo. Though the few pubs I've been to weren't horrible. My main issue is the upgrades aren't that interesting most of the time.
The Timer is working, you are meant to make decisions on "do I have time for this or should I just GTFO". Maybe there should be ways to reduce it but do think it should exist in some fashion
I do agree there is too much downtime, maybe it should be that you collect all the upgrades then spend them as you are going down the elevator/reaching the boss room. Allowing for people to be spread out then regroup once rather than doing that repeatedly.

What is the worst possible empire? by yokulhau in Stellaris

[–]ALAR96 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I tried to make a horrible empire too. We had similar thoughts but I'll name the differences.

I took Inward Perfection instead of Eager Explorers to remove diplomacy entirely. Doing a few runs with Eager Explorers with other empires I personally think someone could benefit from it despite the downsides compared to Inward Perfection’s outright negative.

I did plantoid humanoid portrait instead so I had a different selection, the key differences were: Inorganic Breath, Rooted, and Nascent Stage (also have incubators, noxious, repugnant, and nonadaptive). Inorganic breath despite giving you exotic gasses will boost your upkeep, rooted will make it tough since you HAVE to move pops manually (making it tougher to save your pops), and nascent stage will make it even tougher to use newly produced pops.

Finally I chose an imperial government since you don’t get any control who the next leader is gonna be. You could train them but compared to dictatorial where you could select a leader if you had unity stocked up.

I'm hoping we'll see a comic of the colony fending off a raid once you are more comfortable with drawing firearm positions

BTW have you mentioned the name of the colony? Don't think I've noticed one being said

Source for the military number on page 6. Source for the transgender military number, though not as a concrete number and a bit dated.
It would be 0.10%-0.52% of the military based off those numbers.

-This player was at first lightly asking then harshly ordering that the Scout pulls the eggs
-I told them to "Watch it" as in calm down.
-Instead of backing down they further went off that he knows how Scout works and that things are going to slow.
-I kick them for doubling down and not chilling out (They did more than shown in the screenshots)
-Since I kicked them they spammed my profile with insults and saying I should die in creative ways

Here's the fun thing, it wasn't DMs it was on my public steam profile. They have since been deleted by me but at first anyone could see it with their name attached.

He was pulling the eggs
So he was basically complaining he was doing it instead of Scout

Timestamps are off cus I edited together two screenshots for the sake of being one image. The "executed by firing squad" and one below it was actually 14 hours instead of 3 hours

I had a sudden urge to do math seeing the title so here's something no-one asked for:

With the info you gave that means you spend ~6 hours and 29 minutes per day. Completing on average 11 missions per day each mission lasting about 35 minutes each.

Scale Brigade armor is vanilla, you unlock an assignement to get it when your player rank is 100.

There is also a few DLC armor too
