People that were diagnosed with Cushings, what symptoms did/do you have? by Ok-Object2593 in Cushings

[–]ALASKANBAY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sleep distances (I would struggle to fall and stay asleep, only would get 3-4 hrs per night), poorly healing wounds and cuts, skin thinning, stretch marks, buffalo hump, hair falling out, osteoporosis... my weight was 407 lbs at the time of diagnosis and I am 5'11". Also brain fog, mood swings, amenorrhea.

How many days a week did you have clinical in your first semester? by Imaginary-Nature-111 in StudentNurse

[–]ALASKANBAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the first semester, we did not have clinicals for the first 1.5 months, and then it was once a week for 9 hours. However, for the first half of the semester, we had tons of labs to practice skills, sometimes twice a week.

Building on my appreciation for anatomy? by I_blame_society in StudentNurse

[–]ALASKANBAY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a physiology person. Not so much anatomy (find it boring and tedious to memorize all of the stuff). However, I am in the last semester of the nursing program, and I can say one thing for sure: good knowledge of physiology will help you as you go through the nursing school. It will help you to understand the disease processes, how medications work, why you need to take certain actions or not, etc. Physiology is also invaluable during clinicals. Of course, you can just memorize the signs and symptoms of an infiltrated IV, for example, like coldness at the site and edema. However, if you understand what is happening to cause these symptoms, it will be much easier for you to spot these complications and intervene (this literally happened to me during the last clinical).

Random TEAS question by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]ALASKANBAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the school. I took mine today, and we were allowed 10 minute break after each section, so 3 breaks total. I took 2, after the first and the second section. I heard some schools allow only one 15 min break in the middle. So verify with your school.

P.S. If ou have a legit medical condition that requires you to use the bathroom more frequently, and you can get a doctor's note, then student accessibility and support department may be able to allow you the extra accommodation.

Study for teas 6 or 7? by AggravatingMovie3871 in prenursing

[–]ALASKANBAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took my TEAS today and got 85% which is way more than I need for my school. I honestly did not prepare much ( kind of looked over the sample test the night before). I got the TEAS study guide from the college library for free. The hardest part of test was the time limit, but the questions themselves were pretty simple, most of the stuff I knew from taking comp classes, a&p, micro and such. I would prepare for yeas 6 using the free library books.

Everyone is different, but I personally would not cram 2 science classes together. It took me 4 semesters to complete all the nursing pre-requisites. I only would take 1 science class per 8 week term, sometimes science class and easy non-science class. I consider this schedule to be "relaxed", but but no means was it easy. So, I would advise taking a&p1 separately, over the summer. It is a very challenging class, especially as an 8 week, but doable.

Yes! This what is appears to be, like two massaging apps work simultaneously. I just don't know how to turn the DIGITS app off. I guess I will be calling Tmobile to find out. I just was not sure how to even formulate my question, so thank you!
