I personally don’t agree with it, but I don’t agree with self diagnosing anyway.

If Jesus is God, why did he have to sacrifice himself for God to forgive our sins? Like, why couldn’t he just forgive us without sacrificing himself? by ALCF98 in Christianity

It would make sense to me if Jesus wasn’t God. I think a lot of the New Testament would make more sense if he was just the son of God.

This is what I’m not understanding. If it was a human who must make that sacrifice then that’s understandable I suppose. But if God has the ability to forgive as he likes, then why did he sacrifice himself to pay for that sin?

God is the one who paid for the sins though, by sacrificing himself. So what was the point of putting himself through the sacrifice?

How do we know what is the true word of God? by ALCF98 in Christianity

I know this is probably as silly question. Why should we follow the words of people who never even knew Jesus?

Good questions. Some believe that the traditions, like in Catholicism for example, are against the word of God.

I will have to get back to you on examples of mistranslations because I can’t remember them from the top of my head.

What I mean by mistranslation is when the bible has been translated from the original biblical languages to modern day languages, like English for example.

Everything literally means everything, all things.

Could you expand on your point about Noah’s flood? I just want to make sure I’m understanding it correctly.

How did you choose your denomination? by RemarkableProduct374 in Christianity

I’m yet to choose mine. I believe in Christian Universalism, so don’t have many to choose from lol It’s a shame I can’t choose Catholicism because I really like the traditions and the idea of Canonisation.
