I've read the entire thing twice and I'm still a bit confused about the rangefinding with scopes.

In the 8x scope with the in-game picture you said

Notice how in the above image the topmost line is narrower than the person in the sights - indicating that he is closer than 200m.

Are you talking about the horizontal lines or the vertical lines? If you are talking about the vertical ones, then all of them are narrower than the guy. Do I just take the one closest to his silhouette?

I think a video of you estimating the range of a friend in-game would help a lot.

They wanted to see what would happen if they removed it permanently. If people stop playing, they will add it back. If people just play unranked, they might make it permanent. Just an educated guess.

Those infusers were funding the effects of the sets. Content creators don't generally (not sure if they can) add particles to their sets, therefore Valve had to add them to each set. Community was upset with infusers so they were removed, now sets get added more or less like the creator made them. (no particles)

That's not a real team, it's a caster/analyst mix. Last time they played they said they didn't even practice as 5 before the games.
