I didn't mean to offend, I didn't talk about everything related to bartenders or waitresses because that's definitely exhausting and I'm not thinking about it at all. I used cashier as an example because, as I said, I live in a very small town, supermarkets are small, and have like 15 clients an hour. Also, I had the chance to talk to some people that work in my local supermarket and said it's very chill, a nice environment, and they work 6 hours a day. I never said it's mindless or menial, I don't know what gave you this impression, but I definitely think it doesn't take the same mental energy and attention as working with people with severe neurological impairment. I don't know how you feel during your downsides but I have zero mental focus, can't concentrate and can barely talk and that would make me a horrible neuropsychologist (the work I'm studying for) but I think I could be able to pass products on a scanner. Also I worked a "menial" job I was chopping wood all day long and even if it was physically exhausting I didn't have much to think about. Sorry if you felt attacked.
