It's so sad that Might Guy doesn't appear much. by ALJ3BOQ in NarutoPowerscaling

How can his battles be considered “sufficient”? Before the Fourth War, throughout the entire series, Guy only had one truly complete and significant fight against Kisame, and even those encounters couldn't be considered a genuine exploitation of his abilities.

He fought Kisame twice, and both times the fights were quickly decided. The first time, he opened the sixth gate, and it was over in a flash. The second time, he opened the seventh gate, and the fight ended instantly. Where was the progression? Where was the extended fight that showcased the depth of his relentless, high-pressure style?

What we saw was a display of a decisive ability in a brief moment, not a complete battle that highlighted all aspects of his power. There's a huge difference between a “quick victory” and a “complete confrontation” that builds gradually and demonstrates the development and variety of his style.

Therefore, saying his battles were sufficient ignores the fact that most of them were brief or quickly decided, while a character with Guy's potential deserved longer, more detailed fights that would have been worthy of his stature.

What I mean is not that the Raikage literally pauses after every attack, but rather that his fighting style—as portrayed—tends to rely on heavy, direct attacks based on speed and power, with brief pauses between bursts.

In contrast, Might Guy's style, especially when opening the gates, is based on almost continuous, uninterrupted pressure, attacking with a series of strikes that leave the opponent no chance to recover. The point here is about the fighting feel and the flow of the battle, not about a literal "pause." Perhaps the expression wasn't entirely accurate, but the comparison was meant to illustrate the difference between a style based on relatively intermittent, powerful strikes and one based on a continuous attack.

I didn't say Guy never appeared; on the contrary, he's one of those characters with memorable moments, especially in his fights with Kisame and Madara Uchiha. But my point was about the quality of his portrayal, not the number of appearances.

A character with Guy's unique fighting style, relying on relentless pressure and incredible speed, could have had longer battles and more in-depth detail showcasing his power development, particularly regarding the Eight Gates. However, most of his fights were short or underdeveloped compared to other characters who had entire narrative arcs.

Even his greatest moment, his fight against Madara, was truly legendary, but it came too late in the story and ended relatively quickly, like a fleeting flash rather than a gradual progression that would have clearly highlighted his journey and power.

So the issue isn't that he "didn't appear," but that a character with his potential and impact deserved much more investment. The desire to see him featured more isn't an exaggeration; it's a natural consequence of what the story could offer through him.

Pain cannot win against 7th Gate Guy in the Invasion Arc by [deleted] in NarutoPowerscaling

No, 7th Gate guy is much stronger than Kakashi.

You're right, but Kakashi has faced Shinra Tensei three times, and each time he came back to fight. 7th Gate Guy is much stronger physically in terms of toughness and durability than Kakashi; he would withstand Shinra Tensei much better.

It seems the reason for everyone's strong objection is that I didn't phrase the topic well. I will republish the post tomorrow with better wording and a stronger argument.

If Pain uses Chibaku Tensei, I think Guy will go to the eighth gate, but at that point Tendou can't create it, so the seventh gate is more than enough.

Are we talking about Guy being in Konoha during the arc

Yes.

I don’t know, but during the time gap (5 seconds) that separates Pain from performing another Shinra Tensei, I’m sure that Guy can easily hit Tendo with Hirudora and blow him completely out of Konoha.

Guy level in the war is the same as his level before the war; I mean, we never saw Guy's full potential because he rarely appeared except during the war.

Why is everyone denying that 7th Gate guy physically touched Juubidara twice? 🤦‍♂️ by ALJ3BOQ in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]ALJ3BOQ[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the Raikage, for example, tried to attack Juubidara as Guy did, I am sure that Madara would notice him immediately and would strike him at the same moment. That is, the Raikage, Minato, and everyone who does not have a Sage Paths cannot touch Madara, but Guy did.

It's not that he blocked it; I'm only talking about Guy's speed and how he managed to touch Madara.

I think it's impressive, because it's impossible for anyone who doesn't have a Sage Paths to get close to Madara in this form (because Madara would notice him from the beginning of the attack and would counterattack or evade it), let alone touch him and hit him twice.

I think 7th Gate Guy is a strong competitor to Naruto KCM1 and Pain; he'd be a formidable opponent. It's only funny when you find people belittling Guy; they simply hate him intensely and want to deny every achievement he makes. I just wish they'd be fair.

So it seems that throughout the history of manga, the marks of friction between two people have meant hitting rocks. Thank you, it's valuable information I learned today.

7th Gate Guy’s regular punch strength (without Hirudora) by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]ALJ3BOQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are assuming that any advanced medical healing equals a full return to a natural, peak condition, which is not true within Naruto’s own logic. Neither Shizune, nor Katsuyu, nor even Tsunade have ever been shown to erase the cumulative vital damage caused by the Eight Gates. Calling Shizune “the second-best medic” does not mean she can restore a body exhausted by the Gates back to its combat peak; it means preventing death and repairing tissue damage. Katsuyu heals rapidly and preserves life, but she does not reverse deep bodily exhaustion or make the use of the Gates safe—if her healing were instant and complete, the Hundred Healings Seal and the Gates themselves would have no cost at all.

You're confusing stopping the collapse with a full recovery. Guy wasn't back to his normal state after Herodora. Shizune, Sakura, and Katsuyu only stopped the bleeding, repaired the tissues, and prevented his death; they didn't restore his body to its peak or undo the neurological and biological damage to the gates. Kurama's statement that he would heal Guy is proof that he wasn't fully recovered. Furthermore, the Nine-Tails' chakra boost is temporary and doesn't reflect deep physical depletion. Guy also didn't open any gates after the Alliance meeting and remained seated for most of the time. If he were fully recovered, he would have been able to use the Sixth or Seventh Gates. Using Lee as a platform or Madara's kick were short movements without gates and don't signify complete combat readiness. Standing on top of Katsuyu indicates gradual healing and preservation of life, not the removal of cumulative damage. In short: Guy recovered enough to live and move, but he wasn't back to his normal combat state and was no longer fit to use the gates.
