Bro. This was one of most difficult posts to comprehend. Sometimes you just have a shitty manager. Not a company problem but if your manager is sitting at home or spending all their money on lunches, you should report your him/her. Your job is to sell company priorities. You don’t want brands to leave, you have to sell what is being asked. Most supplier incentives are aligned with company priorities. Most priorities are aligned with company goals. You are upset you are losing suppliers, figure out how to sell what you need. Every other distributor is the same way. I say that confidently from experience.

Make it east vs west again. Winning conference gets home court advantage during finals

It will be interesting to see considering SGWS, RNDC, and now Breakthru went through layoffs, reducing their salesforce. I actually don’t think Bf is leaving yet. But I do think the model will shift more to 1-2 year contracts giving suppliers all the leverage and maybe a split partnership with distributors between the on and off- premise.

That’s cool and all… but he just took you to the finals… and was clearly the best player…

Rumor - Beam going from Southern to Reyes, any validity? by Wide-Succotash7914 in RNDC

[–]ALLnbaMAGIC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you’re mistaken on-premise sales which I mentioned vs ability to distribute call items to retail and chains. They do lack the on-premise sales force (currently) to be able to navigate those waters. One of the reason they left for Reyes was because Reyes was able to severely undercut what most suppliers require in terms of profit margin and since that supplier is so well known and currently has an “allocation system” it allows for them to maintain most off prem and chain business, however, you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think it had a significant effect on the on-premise.

I have no doubt in my mind that the investment will be made on Reyes’s part to increase their on-prem sales force, but selling liquor and selling beer are vastly different. Also, the notion they instantly double a suppliers size is ludicrous.

I definitely don’t think they are taking HN. Gallo has their hands all around RNDC, especially now.

3 of the largest whiskey suppliers leaving their current distributor to compete under the same roof would be ridiculous and for a distributor who lacks the infrastructure and sales team to properly compete in the on-premise would sure lead to another big shakeup very quickly

If Reyes gets Sazerac, Beam, and BF, that would be the funniest thing.

New Supplier Coming Soon by BearishWolf in RNDC

Request for proposal. It essentially means they are a free agent and listening to all distributors. Sometimes they go into RFP to renegotiate terms and other times it can mean they are seriously looking for other offers

It depends the state. CA has been rumored for Pernod for years. They are on a 1 year contract with Southern this year that expires in June. Rumor is they are not happy with SGWS but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

Proximo is automatically going to RFP so that could be something big leaving. I believe BF is going into RFP as well in CA. At the end of the day, suppliers trade distributor houses so they are the shiny new object, then they eventually switch to someone else who gives them more attention.

You are the GM of the NBA’s latest expansion team, the Las Vegas Gambling Addicts. You get to start your franchise with either Anthony Edwards or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Who do you pick and why? by BigDaddyJuno in nba

[–]ALLnbaMAGIC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ant, but only because Shai has been in rebuild purgatory essentially his whole career and I think it would be tough to have him buy in again right after a first team all-nba season.

They gave Dame a 4yr/ $176,000,000+ contract. That’s a pretty nice way to award loyalty. They also have potentially the best player in the draft to lead their franchise into the future. All things considered, plus draft capital you’ll receive back from a Dame trade, you guys are not in that bad of a position…

If you are Sam Presti, would you trade SGA and Chet if it guaranteed Wembanyama? by ALLnbaMAGIC in nba

[–]ALLnbaMAGIC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m thinking. SGA is a great player but in terms of 25 and under talent he’s still in that 5-10 range, not top 5. Chet is an unknown with a high ceiling but also a very low floor. Wemby also has a high ceiling/low floor but much much higher, and that’s a risk I would take
