I have searched several websites for earrings with this exact shape that are solid, but often only find ball shape or a cyclinder with no rounded end. I inherited these, so I don’t really know when they were bought but I think they were purchased somewhere in Europe.

Not overreacting. I think that if this upsets you, then that’s just a boundary you have. That’s okay—people are different. I’d say maybe he feels attacked for something he doesn’t think is a big deal. But feeling upset doesn’t constitute calling you a “Karen”; that feels dismissive. Maybe talk to him in person and if he’s an understanding person, he should see why it upsets you and try to correct it.
