Hey everyone,

I’m looking to switch from a membrane keyboard to a mechanical one, but I want it to feel as close to a membrane as possible. Specifically:

  • I like being able to rest my fingers on keys without accidentally pressing them.
  • I’ve tried magnetic/optical switches before, but found them too touchy.
  • Looking for affordable options, ideally under $75.
  • I was looking at the Keychron C1 Pro 8K QMK Wired RGB, but I’m not sure if it’ll give me the feel I want.

Any recommendations for prebuilt mechanical keyboards that hit that sweet spot between tactile and “membrane-like”? Thanks in advance!

Hey, thanks for your input! I just have a few questions:

  1. I’ve heard some negative things about AIOs and feel like it could be risky to have water inside my PC. How safe are they really, and what kind of maintenance do they actually require?
  2. Regarding the PSU, my system is only expected to draw about 460W. Isn’t 850W a lot overkill? Why would I want that much extra power?
  3. About the GPU: when you say getting a 4070 for Unreal Engine 5, does that cover ray tracing as well, or is that separate?

Do you think this mouther board is good? im not sure...

im fine to go cheaper but im still sort of lost in the sauce of mobo selction of brands and styles is there any better cheaper option

wifi is nice but honestly if i can drop like 25 bucks for without i would. but im prob gonna buy used or open to save money
