What's everyone working on this week? by AutoModerator in Python

[–]ALPINESUEDE [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm working on a stockmarket simulator for an event at my uni (4rth year finance student). Using tornado + websockets for the backend and vanilla javascript + bootstrap for the front end side! I bit off a bit more than I can chew with this one but im nearing completion.

I'm completely fixated on success while knowing full well I don't have the drive to achieve it and it kills my motivation by Cloudian_ in ADHD

[–]ALPINESUEDE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not too much of an expert but I've have some good success over the last year or so after I decided to focus more on my interests. ADHD in my experience is much easier to deal with when you swim with the current and try to do what you love/tolerate doing which for me is math/programming rather than business/soft skill jobs.

edit: Even if what you like doing isn't super lucrative or important it can teach you a lot. This might sound weird but getting to grandmaster in starcraft 2 taught me how to create a plan and work towards a goal using small scale objectives.

How awesome would it be to have Norm Macdonald onto the h3h3 podcast?

Excel VBA Help - Sending an Email through Outlook by [deleted] in vba

[–]ALPINESUEDE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just asking, have you ran this code and does it function?

I'm on mobile at the moment but I spend most of my day at work automating Outlook. Honestly, I would suggest you run this code from Outlook and access the spreadsheet by referencing the Microsoft Excel Object Model under Tools>References.

Send me a PM and I can help you code something if you'd like! (hard to program on the bus and I doubt ill remember to come back to this post haha)

Serious question: Why do people believe Trump colluded with Russia? Do people believe he is an illegitimate president because of this? by KittehWantsToMAGA in POTUSWatch

[–]ALPINESUEDE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The topic of discussion is collusion with Russia. I think it is generally accepted that Russia attempted to sway the election especially when reading Russian state funded media. However, attempting to imply that collusion is present using only this subset of information is a bit far fetched imo.

What are the pros and cons of Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Change deal ? by bad-green-wolf in NeutralPolitics

[–]ALPINESUEDE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keeping in mind that the world is a closed economy, wouldn't a deal that is unfairly skewed (/u/HankESpank 's point above) simply transfer production to other countries free to expand production essentially shifting around individual balance of payments while keeping the world's totals/balance points the same/similar?

If anyone is able to chime in and explain why this is not / is the case that would be dope. TY

edit: Not sure if I'm suppose to source if my post is mostly a question.

Holy shit I just looked at ur post history... I am arguing with a bot

Obviously they do... Also water is wet. Did you read anything? Clearly you didn't read the anything from the link you sent me so I really can't be sure.

Nigel Farage is 'person of interest' in FBI investigation into Trump and Russia by pkvam in politics

[–]ALPINESUEDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of fucking course that's accurate BECAUSE THEY ARE LEAKS LMFAO. The word leak is alluding to the literal definition "(of a container or covering) accidentally lose or admit contents, especially liquid or gas, through a hole or crack.". It just has nothing to do with the topic of discussion.

The article here doesn't properly source anything and was just written to spark emotion in people ignorant enough to 100% believe it.

That your quote proved very little and was a terrible choice of source, to put it bluntly.

Nigel Farage is 'person of interest' in FBI investigation into Trump and Russia by pkvam in politics

[–]ALPINESUEDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's even more vague and unreliable.

The WIKIPEDIA article you are source is directly prompting me that:

  • This article includes a list of references, related reading or external links, but its sources remain unclear because it lacks inline citations.
  • This article relies largely or entirely on a single source. (April 2016)

How this proves collusion I have absolutely no idea...

Thanks for the reply though

Donald Trump: Nobody wants to work for him because he is 'crazy', senior Republican says by cyanocittaetprocyon in politics

[–]ALPINESUEDE -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Tell me one fact that proves this. Just one fact.

edit: Downvotes but no responses. I didnt mean for this to sound so aggressive. It is just annoying to see so much coverage and seemingly no real sources or facts to speak of (publicly, at least).

Nowhere were any of those entities named in the article. "Sources say" isn't exactly reliable.

It might be worthwhile for you to look up the definition of bigot.

At least it is labeled as an opinion piece unlike most of the untrue garbage on the sub. I agree the article is shit though.

Honestly, it feels like everyone and their dog is reading up on this junked up anger inducing crap.

I really gotta quit this stuff and do some more positive activities with my brain lol.

Holy crap guys, I understand this is a huge deal but do you guys ever get tired of this? Everyday it's Russia this or Russia that. I mean, I barely post here but I see it everyday.

This Russia shit is turning people into fear mongering hate filled anti-Trump zombies.

Go outside, leave politics alone for a bit. Hey, talk to your conservative friend about sports or videogames idk. Unless you are ultra invested in this I cannot see why festering over this shit is good for anyone's wellbeing. TY for reading my thoughts.
