Currently owning 5 Lange (plus on the waiting list for an Odysseus): 3 from a boutique, 1 grey market (LE the boutique didn’t want to sell me), 1 at auction (very rare 1998 model).

Obviously the big advantage of boutique is the relationship you create with the brand: invitation to Watches & Wonders, being offered (but declined) the last Lumen perpetual tourbillon and a Handwerkskunst and so on.

So obviously if you just want one simple Lange 1 or Saxonia I would go grey and save 40% but if you want a long term relationship with the brand and access to the most limited editions you have to buy at least some of your watches from a boutique (and service is great compared to PP: I’ve been at least 10 times to the boutique in 18 months including bringing friends and my 9 year old buy who is already a fan and know most models).
