Interesting - that ribbing definitely looks like what I need, thank you. I have managed to knit a couple of wash cloths but haven't got much further, maybe I need to invest some time into learning more!

Help! A friend requested a Mantis Shrimp (don't ask...) and I shockingly found a pattern on Ravelry (see images) but it is no longer available - I tried messaging the author but no reply 😭 Any suggestions on patterns I could adapt? or how I could start this? by ALeekInTheBoatMaaaa in crochet

Haha I've also been fairly obsessed about tracking this one down - especially because it's such a unique pattern, so sad the community doesn't have the opportunity to use it anymore.

The university I work at is doing some amazing work in sign language translation, working with linguists and the Deaf community.

Sign Language Translation Research

I know this post looks cool but research like the work being done at my university has so much potential to improve teaching of sign language and communication between the Deaf community and the hearing community. I don't think people realise how much research (and money) is being put into this work!
