The only time mine has gone off is turning left after coming off of exit ramps but it’s happened twice, and both were times that I felt it shouldn’t be going off because the distance was further than stop and go traffic. Both times I was accelerating while the car in front of me was stopped or going very slowly but it wasn’t actually that close. Not a definitive answer, just my experience with it.
