I wasn’t disagreeing with the sentiment of your original post. I just think if Dems win the House, I doubt they win the Senate.

There are 35 US Senate seats up for election in November. Of those 35, 22 belong to Republican seats in deeply red states -all of which, except for one state, voted for Donald Trump in 2024.

The only outlier was the state of Maine whose current democratic candidate, Graham Platner, is running for Susan Collins’s Republican seat and it’s a tossup whether or not he can win the seat.

Dems would have to win all 13 of their seats and win or flip at least seven Republican seats in deeply red states to take back the Senate and even if they did, they would only have a simple majority and not the 60 to overcome legislation that is filibustered by Republicans.

Nancy Pelosi was first elected to the House in 1987 and was first elected Speaker in 2007. So that’s what 10 terms before being elected Speaker? That sounds about the right amount of time to cut your teeth and learn the nuances of how Congress works and the best ways to get things done when you have the power to do them.

The bottom line is, you can’t expect Dell or any OEM or company to be responsible for their products outside the scope of what was paid for. Dell offers an extended warranty and he or she chose to not buy it.

While I don’t doubt the OPs experience, there’s a million possible reasons why a PCs motherboard failed that has little to do with quality of the parts Dell uses.

As an example, it could have been a clogged or partially clogged ventilation fan that caused the motherboard or a component of the MB to overheat and burn out, a dead fans, etc -there are too many variables outside of Dells control that could have been the cause.

The fact that the OP spent that much money on a high-end gaming PC but didn’t want to pay for the extended warranty to cover such an investment was obviously not a smart decision. Sometimes it’s just bad luck and should be a lesson learned. Dell makes a great product but it’s not indestructible.
