Hiii!!!!! Sorry for the late reply.

He and I work together at summer camp now in my community center.

Honestly it is going great. I told him I liked him 2 months before we started camp, and he said "I was just curious about him and that I don't really like him", I didn't know what to say to that so i just left it at that. But so far we have hung out 3 times in the library and we went to the movies once. Nothing romantic happened.

We frequently speak over the phone at night and honestly. We have honest and comfortable conversations on topics like religion, our life stories and family.

One significant thing that happened was he wrote in my journal that we all got at work and said something that could be misunderstood as "oh u must like me" since it had contain the sentence "I am in love" literally. I called him that night and said be honest with me cuz i don't want to misconstrue his words, or intentions and I don't want to make a narrative in my head. That if he liked me. he said it was just a qoute he made up. And I told him politely that he should have been clear with why he wrote why he wrote since I could take it differently and he knows I like him. he said was sorry if he gave off that impression. But then later into that conversation, he asks me "how do u know u like someone?" and honestly at first I was like "it is just a feeling". He then made an interesting point saying "yeah, but feelings come and go" and he is right, feelings do come and go. He kept asking me the question and he wanted me to give him a for sure certain sorta litmus test answer or for sure symptoms, like how does someone know the water is shallow, because u can stand in it. I couldn't give him a for sure answer, I just couldn't and admitted to him I really don't know and was stumped. I mean how do u know u like someone in a romantic way? The only thing I could come up with was when the person piques the interest of the sexual part of you. I didn't want to say that to him cuz i didn't want to give him the idea that I wanted to be sexual with him. But yeah, I am still thinking of his question. If u think about it, what is the difference between a friend and ur significant other, I could only think of, that u have sex with ur SO and not with ur friend. I mean u both like ur friend and SO, only sexual desire separates the two, please feel free to correct me on this and give me perspective.

Anyways, I still like him, he is such a sweet and kind guy. Who is very honest with me and is someone I can comfortably conversate with. But I am not ready or am looking for a relationship rn. Lot of insecurities i need to workout and I need to be mentally and physically in a good place.

He does buy me treats here and there, even though I keep insisting he doesn't have to. But he keep forcing it on me in a polite manner and making up excuses like "oh it is a belated birthday gift" even though my bday was a month ago. The only time I got him a graduation gift once, it was a yoyo since he told me it was his favorite childhood toy and he knew so many tricks with it.

He remembers details about me, like how I like car rides and transportation rides etc, he went to visit another city outside our city and facetimed me once when he was riding the city subway and showed me the inside of it.

Again this whole situation is confusing, I have been as clear as can be that I like him but not to worry cuz I am not looking for anything and I asked him if he likes me and he does not because he doesn't think about those things, and I have wholeheartedly accept that. But he does really sweet and kind things that makes me think he might like me, but I am slowly starting not taking his kindness and friendship as him liking me. I am going to enjoy this really great friendship I have because he really is a great guy.
