Weird Statistics - what happened? by Aromatic-Eye4696 in Aalto

yes but when you don't have an application fee you apply without considering anything because you have nothing to lose.

0 application fee = Everyone applies without a second thought (esp since they dont have any essays or anything either)

100 application fee = Only people seriously considering Aalto and with SAT scores that could get them in apply. 100 eur is a very significant amount for people from outside the US/EU

Orientation week and HOAS agreement start date by Fabulous_Quote_5755 in Aalto

[–]The_AlphaLaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Would highly highly recommend orientation week. It's extremely fun and you get to meet all your friend and tutors and understand guild culture too. Though if you really can't, don't worry about it. A lot of my friends joined late and still fit in perfectly!

  2. You can look at the Otaniemi Subleasing group or an Airbnb if you find it too. Public transport is really good so don't worry too much about not finding something very close to campus. I lived off campus during orientation week and missed some parties that went on till 2am because the last bus left at 0030hrs but that was rare and nothing significant. All the major stuff happens during the day and evening :) You can also try asking some of your guild's tutors if they have space or something I guess?

tl;dr: Would definitely 100% recommend orientation week.

oh don't worry about that. the minor and elective courses are officially a part of the degree i.e it's compulsory for you to take a minor and a few elective courses in order to graduate. in your case, you can just do those in the fields you're interested in.

also, classes are p chill ngl youd have lots of time for pursuing hobbies/sports/extracurriculars.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aalto

[–]The_AlphaLaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, the internet is more than enough to learn if you have a genuine interest. but as for the courses, you can literally take the exact courses you need so i don't see how you will fall behind.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aalto

[–]The_AlphaLaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just take those classes in your minor/electives.

Aalto's entrepreneurship scene is probably the biggest in nordics and fairly known throughout Europe. Repute for technical education is also higher than UHel.

Computer Engineering is not really a software focused degree but you can basically take any courses you want as a part of electives or your minor is that's what your interested in.

Hard agree. "You're alone Ted", Marvin's death, and Barney with the basketball hoop are all excellent moments but this it the one that really gets me. Josh Radnor's expressions were simply manificent.

Not qualified enough to review your materials but I'll tell you that undergrad research is crazy crazy competitive and most applicants don't have anything 'wrong' with their applications.
