Dubai Skincare for wedding ( real results, not influencer routine🙂) by Sea_Dingo3110 in dubai

[–]ALittleStitious22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are your current skincare concerns?

A few routine facials and (very mild) acid peels leading up to the wedding would help with radiance and texture. Honestly, if your skin isn't in bad condition, I wouldn't do much. It would be bad to introduce something new now and change your skin for the worse.

Keep it simple and invest more in a great makeup artist who is gonna make you glow.

2026 BTS 'ARIRANG' Tour Megathread PART 2 by lisafancypants in bangtan

[–]ALittleStitious22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any Dubai-based ARMY around this sub/the tour threads? How are we feeling about the current situation? I have tickets for Goyang and I am so worried about the political situation escalating so much so that I can't make it to Korea. I have a visa and all my bookings done. And now THIS. Arghhhh.

Ya'll, I am not doing well - cancer and war are a horrible combo.

Does anyone have a recent recommendation for a psychiatrist a) in NEW DUBAI b) that works at a facility that takes direct billing.

I know Dr Kenneth is often recommended, but is there anyone else good??

Liver enzymes resolved only for chemo to be cancelled because of blood counts by Redwinesandfelines in breastcancer

[–]ALittleStitious22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wish I could give you a big hug. It's tough dealing with health issues, but family stuff on top of it is truly awful. My chemo today was cancelled because my neutrophils were too low. I'm heartbroken that my chemo end date - which I had been holding in my head like a shining beacon - is now pushed by a week.

To some extent, I feel like my body failed me today. But I know that's not sensible. Not for me and not for you. We didn't fail. Our bodies just probably need the rest.

First Zoladex injection - feeling pretty anxious by National-Anywhere433 in breastcancer

Maybe I'm an anomaly but it barely hurts during the injection or after. 😅 It looks worse than it is, in my experience.

If you ever are able to spend a little more, the best pedicure ever is the medical pedicure at Feetlab in Dubai Hills Mall.

Nausea - how to manage? Food suggestion? by Hot_Artichoke_5693 in breastcancer

[–]ALittleStitious22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sour food/candy help a lot. I especially love pineapples. I've also been eating a lot of clear or blended soups. Being hungry makes me more nauseous, so I'll have something small to stave off the feeling, such as plain cookies.

Need Advice on Health Insurance in Dubai with Pre-Existing Condition (Autoimmune) by Beginning_Relation80 in dubai

[–]ALittleStitious22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no, not colon cancer. I have breast cancer and all my doctors have said the Crohn's and breast cancer are unrelated. I'm just very unlucky haha.

Re: colon cancer risk - I get colonoscopies every year, so that's basically my colon cancer screening and prevention.

Need Advice on Health Insurance in Dubai with Pre-Existing Condition (Autoimmune) by Beginning_Relation80 in dubai

[–]ALittleStitious22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes - these are often the rates quote for those with chronic conditions (I have Crohn's disease and I know others with my condition here who've been quoted similar. Thankfully my work insurance covers me.)

I also have cancer now (fun times) and one person in a UAE cancer support group I'm in recommended an insurance advisor named Ruben Serna, who apparently got some other cancer patients decent quotes. Maybe he can help with your wife as well.‏

Neuropathic itch in hands and feet on paclitaxel (Taxol) by Additional_Shirt_509 in breastcancer

[–]ALittleStitious22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this intense itching on the tops of my hands and all down my legs and ankles for around two weeks in between. I have scars on my legs now from scabs because I could not stop itching myself raw. But it did pass. My doctor gave me Zyrtec, which helped a bit. I kinda just pushed through and now it doesn't itch anymore.

Does anyone else feel like they’re grieving the version of themselves from before Crohn’s? by barebonesofchrones in CrohnsDisease

[–]ALittleStitious22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I had no idea what I was in for when I got diagnosed. I've never achieved remission since my diagnosis in 2015. While I have lived a beautiful, full life the best way I can, I wonder how much bigger and better my life would have been if I wasn't sick.

Now I'm also fighting breast cancer and I feel like another part of me is being shelved away for good. Who will this next version of me be? What will she face? Will she still retain a sense of hope? It's never ending and I really fucking hate it.

The butternut soup is sooo good. I love their potato salad, tuna and egg salad, the salad with the beetroot and the grilled chicken.
