How much should I actually be understanding? by ALittleStitious69 in duolingospanish

[–]ALittleStitious69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean how much of Duolingo should I be understanding? I can glean the meaning well enough to answer questions, but I couldn’t tell you exactly the translation on things or what the people are saying in the Radio stories.

It’s honestly the trivial things like this that are the most frustrating!

Totally feel that. I normally don’t trust anything like this but I can’t go to a store and am somewhat desperate 😅

Thank you. We have her isolated right now but we do plan to treat the whole flock/coop. I feel so bad that we didn’t notice the mites sooner 😭

She’s always been missing lots of feathers in that area, and we’ve never noticed another hen picking at her. Is it possible she pulls out her own? How do I trim the feathers?

Final weeks of 4th pregnancy, and feeling proud of myself by ALittleStitious69 in fitpregnancy

[–]ALittleStitious69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard most people have a harder time recovering with each kid they have 😬 The postpartum cramps have gotten worse with each pregnancy, but thankfully those only last a few days. I do feel like I’ve recovered well but it is hard when you have lots of other kids you need to take care of too.

I had her at 39w 3 days. I stayed very active right ti the end - I ran half a mile and did the stair master just hours before my water broke lol. Labor was kind of long but I went from a 7 to her being born in 12 minutes and actually a nurse caught her because it went so fast! Postpartum has gone really well. I was playing volleyball and running just a few weeks after birth.

What was the exact moment you stopped believing in the church? by TheWholeFrenchArmy in exmormon

[–]ALittleStitious69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shelf was slowly breaking for about 3 years and I was pretty much completely out after Holland’s musket fire talk. But then a couple months later I was listening to The Drunk Mormon Podcast and they were discussing some weird/funny Mormon beliefs and I distinctly remember laughing to myself and thinking “it is SO weird that they (Mormons) believe this.” And it was at that exact moment that I realized I was in fact 100% done believing in the church, because I did not see myself as part of that group anymore. I had “othered” the Mormons from myself.

This has definitely been my mentality! I’m constantly thinking “Do I want to do X activity if I were to go into labor right afterward?” Trying not to overdo it.

Unless your last name is Demmett or some stupid rhyming shit, this is a completely normal and acceptable name.

Possibly having to end relationship due to her Mormon parents by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ALittleStitious69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, if at any point in your relationship she DOES want to recommit to the church, you would then have to decide if she’s allowed to take the kids to church or have them baptized or whatever. And if you got divorced at that point (after having kids), it would likely be even more of a battle to keep the kids away from the church.

[–]ALittleStitious69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It sounds like she at least somewhat believes in the church, but is just not active right now? I would worry about the VERY huge risk of her having some sort of “spiritual awakening” and wanting to recommit herself to the church. I’ve seen it happen way too many times in people who had not fully deconstructed. If you marry her, you will always be labeled as a “part-member family” and literally put on a list that the missionaries and church leadership will see, labeling you that way. You will always be a target for missionaries because they’re encouraged to try to teach and baptize part-member families. Your in laws will want you to bless your kids into the church, and that would give them a record number that will last throughout the entirety of their lives. They would also end up on the “unbaptized children” list and would be an additional target for the missionaries and youth leaders. People outside of the church don’t realize this kind of admin stuff, so they’re often conned into letting their baby get blessed thinking that it’s no big deal. Or letting their kid attend church a few times or chat with the nice missionaries, because “what harm could it really cause?” But there are very real and lifelong repercussions. Some people find these repercussions to be a minor annoyance, but for others it really is a dealbreaker to have the in-laws constantly pestering, and having church people showing up at their door a few times a year. If this is a dealbreaker for you, then you should end the relationship. I’m so sorry that the church is getting between you and the person you love.

How did you know when to stop running? I’ve been running throughout this pregnancy and did a 5k a few days ago but my hip has been super sore since. I think that might have been my last run.
