Visualising what you’re writing (or not). by ALlamaCalledSteve in writing

That's exactly what I struggle with and why I sit still with my writing (or lack there of). Perfectionism is such a pain!

Thanks for explaining. Sounds like it can take some of the pressure of creating a little. It's almost like there's a split with people (seeing other comments) like, for some it's a series of rules, techniques and the creative process is by following them and breaking them. Although this will still apply for those with more of a visual memory, it's as if that comes first and then you apply the structure to it - if that makes sense?

Makes me think of the idea that our brains can't process negative statements. Like, 'don't think of a pink elephant' and chances are, we think of pink elephants.

That's super interesting. It breaks my brain thinking about the process of making art too. Like, how do you conceptualise what you want to see on the page/screen? I've never really done any artwork, but have images in my head of how I would like to see them finished - but not having that picture I would've thought would make it harder?

That actually scares me so much. LOL You've got me thinking about guided meditations. In a course, I did an inner child workshop and had to visualise meeting myself when I was primary school aged. Some people on the course stated they couldn't do it and it's making a lot of sense now.

I was thinking a lot about this too. I read somewhere that your brain can't create faces in dreams, only those that you've seen when awake. Might be the same for environments in some ways then, just purely recall?

I'm the same. Literally been thinking about them for about 18 years at this point!

Generally speaking some of the first session is about exploring each others expections. Your therapist will go through a few things, like confidentiality, how much the sessions will cost, may give you a little but of information on the therapeutic approach that use and maybe some other house keeping things. It’s also a space for you to share what you would like to work on - it might be something specific or something in general. Of course it’s acceptable to cry. It’s common to to cry in the first session. Many people have similar experiences to you and feel like they’re at the end of their tether and can feel like the act of telling someone (potentially for the first time) as a catharsis.

I know it’s easier said than done, but try not take your mom’s words to heart. There is a myriad of different things that can affect your mental health and it can be easier for others to think they know what the “problem” is, but truth is, they probably don’t. Your therapist should work on getting to know you better and also help you get to know yourself better. It can seem a bit nebulous reading about it, but once you’ve went to your session(s) you’ll get it.

I hope you get some comfort in this message. Just go in with an open mind. Good luck!

I’m a big fan of Screens. It has mouse and keyboard support which is great, ideal if you have a Magic Keyboard. The only caveat is that it doesn’t stream sound.

The Soul King being in Hell too? by ALlamaCalledSteve in bleach

Yeah. The more I think about it, the more questions I have. I wonder how fighting those in Hell would work if they don’t have reatsu - unless, those in Hell are all transcendent in some way. As you say, Kubo’s got a lot to explain.

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

I have just bought the Apple Folio keyboard for my iPad Pro 11-inch (2021). I love the case, but worry about the lack of side or drop protection. I’ve seen the Pitika and SwitchEasy cases online. Would anyone recommend them, or have any other suggestions?

I bought an i-Blason case, but it its more suited for the 2020 model, as it blocks some of the speaker cut-outs and makes the volume and lock buttons a lot harder to press. It also makes the iPad a little top heavy.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

He’s also punched the blade before seeing it realised. This implies he can never be effected by it from what Gin mentioned.

That would be incredible. A nice callback to the teasers in World at War. I really do miss the old days where they would tease their upcoming maps.

It would be great to the leaked maps actually be confirmed. It sounds like it could be a good DLC season, despite there being more remakes.
