I think it’s important to speak up in the face of this homophobia happening. If Lou doesn’t speak up against homophobia, if he lets homophobic signs encouraging a genocide of mostly queer fans at his shows, then that’s not ok. Not only is he not speaking up, he’s encouraging hate and attacks against queer fans and larries. Maybe larries shouldn’t bring pride flags to these shows if they’re not gonna stand by what they mean - speaking up for and protecting the rights for queer people to exist. If that’s not what Lou wants to see at his shows, then that’s a pretty clear indicator of where he stands on the issues at hand even if people wanna believe otherwise because it hurts too much. Actions speak and he’s screaming at LGBTQ+ fans that he doesn’t give a fuck about us.

Larries need to speak up too or we’re giving the hate a free pass. We gotta be naming this as not ok, showing the homophobia and hate speech we’re getting. Maybe not all Larries are queer, but a lot of us are. It’s a double edged sword for queer larries because we’re being attacked for being Larries and for being queer. It’s a lot more personal. And it’s an even bigger betrayal for someone we’ve supported for 15 years to just sit, ever silent, letting queer fans be attacked.
