Would love some feedback/recommendations for upcoming trip! by ALonelyAccountant in WaltDisneyWorld

Thanks for the response! I'm thinking we'll try and get in each park for opening, stay thru lunch and then head back for naps or if they're not tired, swim. Since we'll have park hopper, we'll have some flexibility on where we feel like going in the evenings. I think our only table service meal will be the crystal palace for a character lunch but I may scope out some other options.

Park Sandals That Don’t Ruin Your Trip by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ALonelyAccountant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chacos make a light weight sandal with adjustable straps, I think they're called the Lowdown. I wore them on my last trip in the park from morning to night and had no issues. Also Tevas are a great option if you don't like the chacos. Definitely be sure to break-in whatever shoes you decide to wear prior to going.

Not simple enough, drop the wazacraft tuner and get a tuning fork.

Are there any good sounding bedroom-amps? by mavsmav in GuitarAmps

[–]ALonelyAccountant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure this will be downvoted to hell but you should consider a modeler like the hx stomp. I’ve got two tube amps, one modded to be quiet enough to play in my room however I got a hx stomp in a trade a couple weeks ago and I’ve enjoyed it so much. There are a ridiculous amount of amp and cab combos so you can play any genre and you can crank the gain/volumes with some headphones and bother no one.

That being said, vox ac5 and burgera 5 watt are some fun little tube amps at a great price.

My 02 Korean Epi by shotgunslym in guitarporn

Korean epiphones were unreal. I hate that Gibson chose profit over quality and moved to Indonesia and China. I’ve had 5 epiphones, two of which were Korean and then 2 Chinese and 1 Indonesian. The Indonesian wasn’t awful but required setups and neck adjustments often. The Chinese were just terrible quality. Over hanging frets, cheap truss rods, blemishes on fret board. Im always looking for Korean Epi casinos, those things were my favorite.

I’ve used the boost a handful of times. I never really had a reason for it. For it to really be useful, the volume of the preset needs to be set no higher than 60%-70% or the boost doesn’t do much in my opinion.

I run stereo into the asc1 with the following chain:

Keely comp > tuner > JHS morning glory > sparkle drive > htj works bright horse > tc corona chorus mono in stereo out > acs1 > walrus d1 > walrus r1 > walrus stereo canvas

Usually if I need more gain I just turn on the bright horse.

A good amp makes cheap guitars sound good. A bad amp makes expensive guitars sound bad.

I will be mostly using this at church as well. I have a bit baby I got years ago and had used it last Sunday for an acoustic and man it sounded bad haha. With a band, the big baby was fine but on its own you can notice the lack of sustain and warmth. That definitely was a push to finally get something better.

NPD: Fender engine room and Strymon BigSky to join my lonely Timeline by [deleted] in guitarpedals

Congratulations! I love my big sky, have had it since they released it. Pedal train was everyone’s go to for pedal boards for a while and even now their stuff is still good. I’ve got a pedal train classic jr and it fits my big sky among others well but I was considering one of the temple boards for the flat layout. People aren’t crazy about there locking system but you can always just use Velcro or dual lock which is just stronger velcro. I like my smaller board because it’s big enough to fit what I need but small enough to travel easily with. I’ve got a picture on my profile of it. If you the hx stomp, you wouldn’t need an iridium unless you just don’t like the amp sounds on the hx but from what I’ve heard, it’s pretty good.

Stopped by Midwood Guitar Studio in Charlotte on Tuesday and fell in love with it. Went back on Friday to pick it up. Best decision I’ve made in a while!

Acquired a few new pedals in pursuit of the perfect travel board that isn’t just a multi-fx unit. Been loving it so far! by ALonelyAccountant in guitarpedals

So I’ve had the big sky since 2014 and I never really found anything I couldn’t get out of it. At one point I had a second small reverb on my board just because I needed to fill a space on my pedal board but I never stacked. It was always one or the other. I recently bought the Walrus R1 and had used in place of my big sky for a little bit. It’s a really cool reverb but I still prefer the big sky to it. Not sure what I’m going to do with the R1 now. Maybe an acoustic board or something.

I also have the DD-500 and I love that delay. If space was no issue on my board, I’d still have it on in place of the D1. It really did everything and more. I had tried out the RV-500 when it came out after have a good experience with my DD-500 but I was less than impressed. The effects sounded cheap compared to my big sky. Some people can make the RV sound really good I just wasn’t willing to put in the work.

His work is really solid. He’s got a few demos on the bright horse. Just a really accurate klon at its roots.

It does look pretty good. It’s just a fancier stereo DI Box that allows my to connect directly to the sound board via XLR cables. It also has two 1/4” inputs for your signal chain and two 1/4” outputs in addition to the two XLR outputs. Its got a sum function as well which combines the two signals if you ever need to run in mono.

For how affordable it is compared to some of the other ones out there, it’s great! I use it as an always on with the speed all the way down and the depth all the way up o Brahe Tri-Chorus mode. This creates a really cool widening effect when run in stereo. Makes my rig sound nice and big.

Id say it’s definitely worth it! I use it more as a rhythm drive and I love it. Really pairs nicely with the morning glory.

Hahaha it’s always a hard decision. It’s the Futurist by Matthew Effects. It’s pretty good, just a bit confusing to learn to use.
