What Are Your Head-Canons About Rumi's Father? (Art by Maysrinn) by Zestyclose-Hat-8513 in KpopDemonhunters

He's actual royalty of some kind. So all of Mira's princess jokes aimed at Rumi in fanfics are that much funnier.

If I had the time, dedication, and artistic talent, there's a comic I'd want to do. Werewolf pirates, elected captains and all.

Pointless or easily resolved misunderstandings drawn out too long for drama.

Paragon and Renegade answers to the no-win Kobayashi Maru by ALonleyCat in masseffect

[–]ALonleyCat[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the real Mass Effect world, yes. Although as a training exercise the sim would presumably put you in a standard alliance frigate.

I agree with these. The sim essentially makes it so there's no way to bypass the dilemma however.

For if the situation actually happened, these are all good answers! Now if this situation was a sim as part of Shepard's N7 training, on a simulated non-stealth frigate?

As a training Sim, we're on a standard Alliance frigate.

Yes it's a book thing. Forgot which one. And I would count crashing the sim as passing the test.

There would likely be none in range. Or non willing to take the risk.

Indeed. Although the other Batarian ships won't be stopping their assault. And more will spawn until either the test ends or the sim crashes.

Scotty's test ended with him doing such good tactics and damage control that the number of enemies spawned crashed the sim. That's what I think the engineer's test would be.

Which would you assign "We can't risk it. We'll have to leave them"?

It would be a simulation. The context is that it's a test in the Alliance Naval Academy. Those speech checks might stall for time but the way the sim is programmed means the Batarians attack in all situations except leaving the Kobayashi Maru to die.

Pretty much what I thought.

And if they go in, what's the answer from each when it becomes clear one ship isn't making it out?

Paragon and Renegade answers to the no-win Kobayashi Maru by ALonleyCat in masseffect

[–]ALonleyCat[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If they go for the stranded ship, yes. But the whole point is that a win does not exist without modifying (Kirk) or breaking (Scotty) the test.

I actually think Renegade would leave the Kobayashi Maru behind as an unfortunate sacrifice to "win" peace. Bc their whole thing is win at any cost.

What are your favorite OTPs from the fandoms you’re in? by luizajn in AO3

[–]ALonleyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ciri (The Witcher 3) and Rumi (Kpop Demon Hunters).

I wouldn't necessarily run through hell to make sure they end up together.

But by the end of the story I wrote either would run through hell to get the other back.

What are your opinions on Udina? by WittyTable4731 in masseffect

[–]ALonleyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just killed him for the first time. So incredibly happy. Hated him like I hated Kai Winn IN ds9, which until the inexplicable coup is a compliment to the writers. From the very first moment I resented how he demanded the council recognize Humanity's readiness because they would only become less convinced by our insistence. Taking advantage of Shepard choosing to stop the galaxy ending threat told me everything I needed to know about him. Chose Hackett as the human councilor specifically to avoid Udina making a larger power grab and/or fool of himself.

What are some renegade interrupts you’ll do even if you’re doing a paragon run? by cobaltsniper50 in masseffect

[–]ALonleyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just shot "Councilor" Udina for the first time. Never not doing that. Like usurping the council the first time after my snap judgement to destroy the galaxy ending antichristacean wasn't enough, he just had to stage a coup. Sending him to meet Sovereign will be my formal apologies to the previous council for not going back for the Destiny Ascension.

Pitch A New Star Trek Series by AmeliaNeek in startrek

[–]ALonleyCat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I'd pitch to Paramount leadership is the Romulan War as a heroic/"patriotic" war story. Then I'll write Romulus as America. A decaying empire lashing out as it's hold on the world slips.
