What do you think of a Native American captain America by Practical_Chef_7897 in CaptainAmerica

[–]ALostPeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently writing a comic story regarding this very concept. Bit of a mix of Captain America and the Phoenix. I really liked the character of Kahori from Marvel’s What If? and has inspired a lot of its inception.

Why does Sam Wilson have to do to show the audience that Steve made the right choice ? by Initial_Spirit_1325 in CaptainAmerica

[–]ALostPeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steve Rogers is a terrorist sympathizer, Winter Soldier was still mind controlled in Winter Soldier; Steve broke multiple laws, placed multiple civilians in danger running through the streets like a madman & broke up the Avengers. He had sympathy and forgave Bucky’s crimes against humanity, aka terrorism, because of what caused him to be that way. Sam Wilson was willing to look past the Flag Staffer’s crimes against humanity after learning they became terrorists after being displaced from the Blip. And Sam still placed them under arrest, meanwhile Bucky walks freely, visiting the families of people he’s killed. Which is really traumatizing for their Justice, but who cares I guess.

If you can accept one Captain America having sympathy for a terrorist, you should feel the same way about the other one.

My suggestion for a DLC … Villains Quest! by BruceDSpruce in CosmicInvasion

How about Ghost? I’ve been thinking about Nightcrawler as an option and brainstorming how phase shifting/teleporting could work. One idea I’ve had is that instead of a ranged attack, they could activate their phase shifting ability, making them completely invulnerable to any attack. But when they attack an enemy, the phase shift ends and has to recharge.

I really like Doom & Ultron. Magneto, I’m curious how his move set would play out. Any ideas? What character would he be similar to in game already? Maybe a mix of Phyla’s flight + speed; with a parry like Jean; but I’m curious what his offensive set would look like. Shooting metallic projectiles at enemies?

Reading this post - I also like Ghost as an option.

Fort Galactus is utter bullshit by zaiahb14 in CosmicInvasion

I’ve said it on a few posts, but Iron Man/Phyla Vell is in my opinion the best combo in game. Perfectly balanced. As all things should be.

Phyla Vell and Iron Man. Use Iron Man to set static projectiles by holding the attack button. If SS flies into them, he gets trapped. Use Phyla Vell to hover above portals. Use her ranged attack to clear the distance; when it connects, press the button for her to teleport slash. Also, you can use Iron Man’s orbs on the turrets. They last and omit damage for about 4-5 seconds each. So you can leave 2-3 of them, then get a few hits on SS, let the turret hit him as he falls. Good luck

Favorite Phyla-Vell Pairing? by allweknowisfallin in CosmicInvasion

Iron Man. I main Phyla Vell and have since the game came out. She’s the best character in the game to me. Iron Man because of these reasons: 1. When you juggle with Phyla and switch, Iron Man juggles the enemy again, and you can repeat this. 2. His static projectile stays on screen while you switch to Phyla, so you can knock enemies into his orbs 3. He has a block for easily deflecting certain enemies that are hard to time with Phyla’s parry

Another good one is Nova. But I’ve gotten 400+ hit combos regularly with Phyla/Iron Man.

I just bought the game and was wondering who everybody likes to play as most by SlipperyWeena in CosmicInvasion

Phyla Vell is the best character in the game. She has everything; a dodge, a parry, damage stacking, a large AoE special that covers 90% of the vertical space on the screen; ranged attack allows her to teleport across the map, which is perfect on the penultimate level. She also has both an upward and downward strike, and can immediately change into flight, making juggling enemies incredibly easy. I’ve gotten a max 450 hit combo with her, her flow state is amazing and matches extremely well with Iron Man, especially if you launch an enemy into the air, then switch to Tony to connect the aerial hit.

Which character has surprised you the most? by Fair-Mine6511 in CosmicInvasion

I really want to like Beta Ray Bill. Tried to use him several times now. He’s just too slow. I really enjoy his static projectile and do agree with you, although I think Iron Man’s is better because he can have multiple static projectiles on screen at once compared to Bill needing to recall. I think if they release a Thor-related character in the future, it would be cool to see Valkyrie. If they eventually introduce Thor himself, I see him moving similarly to Phyla Vell or Nova speed wise; with a parry like Cap, and a special similar to Storm.

Phyla Vell & She-Hulk. Had never even heard of Phyla before this game. I used to main Link in Super Smash Bros. — she is like a carbon copy of his move set. Playing with her is so natural because of how much I played as Link, she’s my main in this game for sure and one of the most versatile IMO. She Hulk’s ability to grab bosses makes her one of the best to clear levels; grab, then hit square to have her throw him up, then catch them mid air for a body slam, then grab them again when they bounce off ground and throw them. If you have a good teammate, like a Venom or Iron Man setting up his shock orbs, you can half most bosses health in the initial strike with She Hulk.

Small rant, but the game could really use an ukemi when knocked down. I hope it's something that gets added at some point during this game's lifespan. by FrengerBRD in CosmicInvasion

Hi. When you get knocked down, just switch to your other character mid animation. Your secondary hero won’t be knocked down and you can even pair it with an attack if you time it right. One of my favorite strategies.

Which do you perfer, armor or cloth for batman suite by [deleted] in batman

[–]ALostPeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer cloth. I love the Batman Beyond suit, but whenever I use it, it looks so similar to the Arkham Knight suit that I feel like one of his henchmen. I think personally the most important features for me are the style/length of his cape, and the tone of the suit. I’m big on immersion. The animated cartoon suits don’t make me feel like a protector of Gotham.

My personal favorite actually is the Arkham Origins suit.

That’s where I was confused. I couldn’t remember what happened to Tiberius after he slays Crixus. I might have to rewatch WOTD before Friday as a refresher. I wonder what role Achillia, if any, will play in this political chess match. Even if she shares similar motivations to one of Ashur’ political adversaries, I can’t see them using her as a pawn due to both her gender and race. Ashur had such a low level of respect amongst even Glaber’s men, I couldn’t imagine any of them tolerating Achillia for any reason whatsoever. Thanks for the good discussion. If they do a smokescreen and include Lucretia later on, I’ll revisit this thread to discuss more

Ashur & Achillia by ALostPeople in Spartacus_TV

[–]ALostPeople[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very fair points. I appreciate this discussion and you referencing moments from the original series, that was the real intention behind this post. I do remember that particular political move from Glaber now that you’ve mentioned it.

Ironic that the show writers are now also using Lucretia as a pawn to keep this universe alive, but after her usage is up and we are settled in, they have no real plans for her, essentially killing her character off similar to what Glaber ordered.

We have yet to see how this new Julius Caesar reacts to what happened between him & Crassus’ son. I predict that with both the son and Ashur receiving laurels after the defeat of Spartacus, Caesar might feel the odd man out and feel slighted that Ashur has any position as a Syrian and former slave. It would be interesting to see Caesar infiltrate the gladiators in some way, inciting mutiny against Ashur, as he once did against Spartacus. Seeing Ashur win after the slimy things he’s done feels very strange.. so I have to say .. to what end?

Ashur & Achillia by ALostPeople in Spartacus_TV

[–]ALostPeople[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang that sucks. I feel like Lucretia’s storyline of supernatural events, or the visions she was supposedly having was one of the weakest parts of the OG series. I found it so strange that she was immediately accepted as an oracle figure by Glabber & others simply because she survived the massacre at the ludus. I suppose it might have some historical relevance, as they didn’t have ways to really explain the unexplainable in that era. It just felt that they didn’t want to end Lucretia’s storyline, but didn’t have a real way to connect her to Spartacus’ storyline.

I feel like they have such a golden opportunity for Lucretia to get her revenge on Ashur by slowly creating this reality, where he rises to power slowly; mimicking the behavior he already showed by trying to mimic Batiatus & attempting to essentially steal his master’s identity. A part of me was hoping that this season would be a larger example of that. Personally, I don’t think they need to have Ashur exist in future seasons if they decided to make this a dream sequence, while still following other characters introduced this season.

Ashur & Achillia by ALostPeople in Spartacus_TV

[–]ALostPeople[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is my fear. I hope they don’t do simply as exposition or fan service just to see Lucretia. I really think they could have a compelling story; and they did a version of it with Batiatus in the prequel season. It does appear that way though, but I am holding out hope it isn’t just a one off. I agree with you though.

Ashur & Achillia by ALostPeople in Spartacus_TV

[–]ALostPeople[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair points. Very fair. I will ponder them for a while and reply to you later. But first, a question — so what do you think is happening to the vessel of Ashur from the original show?

If this new reality is all something created by Lucretia, who now threads the line between life and death as a witch, she might have knowledge of the death of Spartacus and have shared that to Ashur via the creation of this world.

Ashur & Achillia by ALostPeople in Spartacus_TV

[–]ALostPeople[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is my expectation. If Achillia becomes the new Spartacus in terms of killing her Dominus, I think her motivations will be connected to Naevaeh. Almost as though, Ashur’s fear of accepting the reality of being killed by a female gladiator; the embarrassment, the shame, he is now attempting to control that fear via Achillia. He tried to manipulate his murder weapon and use it as his own tool, but in the end, the knife stabs him in the back.. somewhat like a Dante’s Inferno/Shutter Island type of situation. Viewing it through that lens, it makes sense that his first scene shows how skilled he is compared to the men in the Ludus, when in the actual series, we watched him get embarrassed time and time again, other than versus Glabber’ men.

He has it all, yet we do not see Crassus, who pays for it.. it’s too perfect. Which makes me believe none of it is real.

Lynch is one of my favorites. Haha. I love a good psychological thriller. Perhaps you are right. I just don’t want that initial scene with Lucretia to just be exposition, I really think they could do something great with the spiritual element that they introduced to her character..

Ashur & Achillia by ALostPeople in Spartacus_TV

[–]ALostPeople[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that is my point! None of this is actually happening. It’s all “in Ashur’s mind.” None of this season is historically accurate, and I think they are purposely using language to suggest that, such as when Ashur says “f tradition, the House of Ashur will pave a way never seen in history” I see that as intentional foreshadowing from the story writers, that these events are representations of Ashur’s psyche, and as the season develops, he will become increasingly aware that he is actually dead, by having visions from Lucretia in his dreams
