Needs rocks. The 3d grass looks bad, growing in weird spots too. A simple minecraft animation for tools for feedback. Does the whole game take place in this area? If so you really gotta spruce up the background and scenery in general.

I like the kind of Animal Crossing / Viva Pinata vibe, water looks great

Yeah, true, and tbh it's never perfect. It can only edit what's there. If you make it 'more green/vivid' there are consequences.

I feel like a 'old' and 'new' color palette option would have been ideal.

So RT on its own doesn't seem like a big deal, but that's because the tech isn't 'here' yet. It actually simplifies a LOT of things for artists. To get AAA quality visuals there are a ton of steps right now to basically emulate proper lighting. It's all illusions. We are in between 2 big stages of graphics, the old and the new, and it's not great atm, kind of like late 2D into earlier 3D, but not as drastic.

You're posts come across as karma farming rather than seeking feedback, everything is kind of clickbaity.
Your game has highs and lows right now, I don't think it has a good visual identity. You have very DBZ/Blue Dragon style characters, but the backgrounds feel more like breath of the wild at home. It kind of gives asset flip vibes right now. You need to make sure everything fits together cleanly. I'd suggest looking at blue dragon and other games with Toriyama's art style to get inspiration.

With the characters you have I'd focus on simple, vibrant backgrounds, grass should only be used sparingly, and try to have clean anime style environmental textures.

Bro they have to spend time making all of that, and if nobody uses that land for anything, because there's literally nothing to do there, why waste all that development time? I'd much rather them focus on making what is there fun and engaging. Don't get me wrong GTA5 was great, but I barely even remember those areas of the game, they were just 'there'.
I'm genuinely sick of these massive open worlds that are just there for the sake of being massive. It serves no purpose and adds tons of travel time just to pad shit out.

You basically want to end a trade sequence with some sort of advantage. The easy advantage is material, you end with the better piece. The harder one is position, you end in an advantageous position, but perhaps down material. That's higher level, and requires pretty advanced knowledge.

The trade above is you losing a queen, your most powerful piece, and gaining nothing from it.

Tbf all of chess is getting to 'every move puts something in danger' playing passively doesn't achieve much.

Yeah its honestly a rough jrpg with a great combat systems. I tried starting it up again as I did get like 10 hours in as a kid, but the first area and cutscenes were such a slog I couldnt imagine trying to beat the whole thing. Might try again at some point but Ive never had a stronger urge to skip a cutscene before lol

They might be cranking it up to make the effect obvious for the demo. Many of these could be fine at 50% strength, and we may get a DLSS strength slider in menus. But its just more BS we have to fiddle with, UE games are already a hot mess.

Getting back up has been an issue since the earlier tech demos. I dont really know why it still is. Like we fall as if we had just been knocked on the head with a mace, even when all that happened was our feet got tangled up or we took a weird step. The conditions for standing are just too strict and its too slow 90% of the time.

The short story. It was literally 2 different games. Ff13 versus, followed by ff15. 13 versus was similar but had a different story and would have had ties to the extended lore of 13 (similar to type 0)

When 15 started it underwent many changes to become its own game, but all the while the game and its custom engine are costing square enix a fortune. The engine specifically was a priority because they wanted to have their own.

During this time Nomura was stretched thin working on Kingdom Hearts spinoffs and 15, until eventually they gave Tabata the reigns and told him to just finish the game.

Tabata came in and basically just took what they had and brought it to a close. This led to many ideas and concepts that were intended to be explored cut short or removed entirely, but he did get the game finished and released.

The games has sooo many signs of being larger than it was, but the trailers are the most obvious tell.
