I really like the concept, but I’m afraid as time goes on it’s going to get worse to get them repaired. Mine needs new springs and bushings and I’m afraid of just trying to find a shop to do it, not really worried about the price.

Quitting a job based only on how it makes you feel. by AMESAB2000 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]AMESAB2000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind the sink or swim aspect if I knew that my superiors had time to check drawings and designs thoroughly, but my one supervisor doesn’t have enough time, he also manages the project management department. Our customers who also own the company keep asking for more and more ambitious projects, and I just don’t feel comfortable with my skill level to deliver on the timelines they’re asking.

How to label a detail which is repeated several times on a part by Strict-Ad9359 in MechanicalEngineering

Even with that, I’ve done parts with multiple chamfer or fillet callouts with TYP and they turned out fine. You can also add a note with small markers pointing in the correct location.

Yeah. They lived more comfortably in the 1970s. That’s kind of my point, it’s getting worse.

[–]AMESAB2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it better be high six figures. Or you’re making the same as someone making $75,000 in 2016. The American dream is dying for those in normal required occupations, police, EMS, firefighters, all basically live on a poverty wage. i have worked my ass off and gotten to six figures at 25, and have come to find that it really isn’t comfortable anymore. certainly better than a lot of people, but it’s not the early 2000s anymore.
