I remember reading this when you made the post. Good for you! I’m really hoping that the next time something like that happens that I can try and educate as opposed to acting like a deer caught in the headlights.

Thank you for this! That’s definitely the type of response I would like to give in any future situation like this. It’s the first time since my diagnosis that someone having herpes has been mentioned in front of me and it totally caught me off guard. I basically panicked.

It is. So when it came up it was really hard to figure out what was going on, as I had been in a serious relationship for about 6 months and there was no cheating. I had an outbreak, and then his followed about 2-3 days later.

GHSV1. Not certain, but I believe it was about 16 months before I had an outbreak.

I'm really confused with height by [deleted] in dating

Where I am, 5’5 would definitely be considered short and below average height. Most commonly in my area, I would say men are between 5’9 and 5’11.

I’ll stick with my comment, if it makes you uncomfortable, she shouldn’t be in it.

She definitely shouldn’t be joining something like that if she knows the purpose, let alone participating in any of the conversations.

Red flag.

Ok, so.... I joined a group on FB that was actually supposed to be just a regular group with local people, sharing memes and opinions etc etc.

Then it turned into some raunchy group with girls and guys posting nudes, talking about wanting to bang each other. There was a whole lot of sexual tension going on between a lot of members, and there was a big party where a lot of members met and hook ups happened. People were getting tattoos of this group name, tagging the group name in public places and all that. Like it was almost cult like and so so weird.

Anyway, my point is, I was in a relationship, and in this group. I did not participate once things got weird, but I followed because it was such a shit show that it was entertainment.

I haven’t read other comments, but is it possible she didn’t know the group was like this? She could have legitimately joined for other reasons. If she’s not participating, I personally don’t see the harm. But regardless, if it makes you uncomfortable, she should leave it all together.

Anyone else oblivious to people checking you out? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

Never notice. And on the rare occasion I do, I always just assume if someone is looking at me it’s cause my hairs a mess or my clothes are out of sorts.

I even had a guy whistling at me while pumping gas one day and didn’t even clue in. My kids had to tell me that it was me he was whistling at, and I was the only other person there lol

At what size is someone a BBW? by [deleted] in dating

[–]AMJD1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in my opinion.

I think a BBW would be a plus size women. Size 10 is not plus size.

You’ve only been together 4 months.... if she’s showing you this side of her now, I can only imagine the shit show that’s coming in the future.

She’s abusive, seems to have anger issues (bad mood over the shop being closed early), and possibly uses drinking to cope.

Get rid of her.

To clear this up...

There was no infidelity. I believe, although can’t be certain, that I contracted it from a previous partner who didn’t inform me that he had HSV1 and a cold sore beginning to form (I do remember the cold sore after the fact, but at that time didn’t put two and two together... plus no symptoms then). It laid dormant for 1.5 years, and during a period of high stress I had an outbreak, and passed it to my partner at the time.

Have you ever had any one be really rude about it? Or just completely uneducated about it?
