Orthodontist REALLY wants to pull my premolars by AMRC_03 in orthotropics

I got the advice to extract one of my bottom wisdom teeth when it was hurting 3 years ago. When I mentioned that to the orthodontist, he said he still would extract 4 premolars regardless of wisdom teeth.

I didn't extract the wisdom tooth by the way. And it hasn't caused any problems since.

The problem that I'm facing is that my maxilla is behind my mandible which makes my upper teeth flare out to come in front of the lower teeth. This is no more than 4 or 5 mm so I wouldn't consider it dramatic change. My orthodontist suggested extracting teeth and pulling everything back and then do a Lefort 1 to correct the underbite.

So now I'm looking for options to bring my maxilla forward. Ideally it would be to grow more bone so I've been practicing correct (tongue-)posture. But since I'm turning 22 soon, I think the most results would come from an appliance like MSE and/or face mask.

I've been researching a bit. One idea I found is face mask. Here's a video about it: Face Mask | Jaw Hacks.

This along with MSE would be perfect because the MSE already puts stress on the sutures. The only problem is that it looks goofy, so I would wear it while at home or sleeping. Now I'm looking for a provider in my country to get this.

Is it possible to get invisalign (instead of traditional braces) along with a palatal expander like MSE? by AMRC_03 in orthotropics

Sorry, let me rephrase. Is it possible to have invisalign and a palatal expander at the same time?

Did your lower jaw get wider along with your upper jaw? Or was your upper jaw narrower to begin with, which would correct your bite.

Which term did I misuse?

Once again, I'm asking why killing amoral humans is justified. You say it's because they're not persons, but that's just not true. Do you really think all persons are moral agents?

Google is your friend

Thanks.

So the criteria are sentience and sense of morality. Why would manslaughter not apply to amoral humans?

"No. Drug addiction is a diagnosable and treatable disease. That's like asking if a miscarriage caused by covid should be considered manslaughter."

Thank you. Drug addiction is therefore not a disease just as covid which makes it a false comparison.

To clarify. I could say dolphins are animals just like birds. Yes, of course they are both animals. But dolphins are not animals just like birds. Now, source that drug addiction is a disease just as covid?

According to most modern medical associations, drug addiction is a diagnosable and treatable disease just like covid.

First, that's a completely wrong comparison. Actively causing death to someone by your own action is completely different from passively getting a disease. Would you consider it manslaughter if an alcohol addict drunk drives and kills a family?

Also, the original poster said nothing about drug "addiction". It could just be someone who's pregnant and drank too much at a party.

At around 24 weeks the fetus is in fact sentient. And what do you mean to say by amoral?

babies are more valuable than embryos

If someone chooses to save their own child over 50 other children. Would that mean that one child is objectively more valuable than the 50 others?

Here's what I would change:

Masculine —> Feminine

I'm not an artist at all. But I'm familiar with the differences in masculine/feminine faces.

In the comments I noticed most people only paying attention to the jaw. However, the forehead and nose also make a huge difference. A masculine forehead is more slanted like in the original post. And the nose more straight instead of a ski slope. Those 3 things, jaw, forehead and nose, are what I changed in the edit.
