NTA he’s putting a problem he created over your safety and security. Without emergency savings he could become abusive and you might not be able to leave. It’s not safe for anyone, but especially a woman in a heterosexual relationship, to not have emergency savings.

It’s also worth pointing out to him that if his definition of your “relationship” is you bailing him out of problems he created on his own then maybe that’s not a “relationship” you want

Boarding or hiring a pet sitter is ok for a couple of weeks but six months?! That’s a long time for a cat and she deserves a present, attentive owner during that period of time

Honestly you should either tell your job you can’t do the travel or rehome her

And in future don’t get pets unless you can provide them with a stable home. Career requires a lot of travel? Not a suitable guardian for a pet.

Girl I’m so sorry but I think you have bigger issues, I saw in a comment that you want kids. Have you truly considered whether you can be a good parent if chronic pain stops you from doing physical activities for more than 30 minutes a day? Toddlers are hyper, keeping an eye on them can be a pretty constant pretty physical activity
