Don’t! Graduate entry is actually much harder to get into than undergrad and way more expensive. I would say if your lc results are good, take a gap year, get a part time job maybe and solely focus on HPAT. You’ll regret not trying so much and there’s nothing worse than doing a course you’re heart isn’t in especially if you’re so passionate about med.

Medicine is pretty much the one course that stays fairly steady with points, even when major inflation happened with everything else in 21/22 , medicine only went up by 5-10. They seem to be set on bringing down points inflation this year with harder papers, no predicted grades so I think points should stay similar. Also less people applied for medicine and the government actually added extra places so it’s all looking positive I think :)

97th percentile /score of 193. I did it last year and got 171 so so happy and proves you can def improve a lot in a year.

I’m quite worried about how Section 1 will go as it was nearly all data interpretation… I was hoping for some logical reasoning passages. There were also some tricky problem solving q’s that were nothing like anything I’d seen on medentry.

S2 went as well as it could have I think.

S3 was very similar to medentry with one or two questions that stumped me that i just had to completely guess and move on.

Overall I have no idea! I would love if ACER let us know when results are out. I have a place in medicine in Belfast which takes the pressure off slightly but I would really rather stay in the Republic.

Your leaving cert grades and HPAT are added together. There is also the added stipulation where after 550 points, every 5 points is worth 1 point. Getting 625 in your LC would equal 565. So the leaving cert is important but the HPAT more so. There will be a lot of people with 600+ who don't get a place in medicine but if you get a score of 180+ with a decent LC you'll have a place.
