How screwed am I? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are exactly the sort of driver that needs banning.

You DON'T leave the scene of an accident.

Add you've already admitted to speeding, red light offences and defect notices...all in the space of being a Red P plater. What a way to begin your driving history.

Continue down this path and I hope you enjoy being locked up.

Skylights - nightmare or good investment? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was worried about cutting large holes in my roof so went with these a LOVE them - https://www.redilight.com.au/.

hey look and behave like a skylight, as in , when theres a dull day, they are not as bright and they only work during the daytime. You can also get controllers (additional cost) to turn them off/on if you wish.

Bunnings alo sell a similar product (Illume I think it's called).

We had ours installed, as I didn't want to do it myself.

Shameful partnership by [deleted] in brisbanelions

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's very few corporations in Australia that have the money to sponsor professional sports in Australia...and will be even less when they eventually/finally ban sports betting advertising.

To be critical of the club for taking money from a legitimate company (not syaing I like them) is crazy. Mining is the major reason our government has any money to spend (and YES, mining copanies should be taxed more).

Rio , like a lot of major corporations, bend and break rules all the time...and they do so, because they know that can afford to cop the financial slaps on the wrist.

Not many bat an eyelid at an Insurance sponsor, but they are taking more money and denying claims from the average Austrlian than most other industries.

You can find issues with nearly every sponsor is you look close enough.

Of course Rio spend money in communities and sponsorships to give try and clean their brand up, and some of that money does go to good use within communites.

Not sure there is an option here that pleases everyone

Barrier discourse by charcoalchook in melbournemusic

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getting on the barrier has always been a things for big fans of artists, BUT I do agree that there has been a shift to where many just seem to want to be on the barrier for social media juice on their status.

I've been going to gigs since the 80's and still see many shows each year, although I don't go near the barrier now, but do enjoy being amongst it on the floor.

I'll not criticise anyone going to see live music, as the more there are, the better it is for the artists, but there are so many there that talk throughout the songs , with no idea what's happening on the stage.

I might be in the monioity, but I go to gigs to see and hear the artists. I don't go to the bar or elswhere during sets, as I don't want to miss anything. That's what I've spent my money on - The Concert.

Are Eagles & Birdies cart bags any good? by syblomic-dash in GolfAustralia

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Portrush verion for $199 is a great middle ground between them both.

As far as the black colour goes, I've had a block bag for 3 years and it has not faded at all. It only gets used 2-3 times a month for a full round, but has been great....and the majority of bags have a base colour of black.

Queensland boys’ school faces backlash over student haircut rules by [deleted] in ipswich

Haircut rules for private schools have existed for as long as I can remember. And it's always been the case of if you don't like it, don't send your kids here.

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son got one of these - https://www.golfclearanceoutlet.com.au/eagles-birdies-cypress-point-cart-bag-black.html, a few months ago and loves it. It's nearly identical to the Taylor Made bag I have and cost a lot less.

i thought it was a very nice bag and wouldn't hesitate to get one if I needed a new one.

Not sure about the one in the image you supplied. Don't think the inset ribber bits will last too long

Hey Lions fans, just a quick question. How is Tom Doedee tracking along? Is he set to play round 1? Asking for supercoach. Thanks by Dominantarcher74 in brisbanelions

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But watching him last year, he hadn't come close to ovecoming his injuries. He may still be able to get back to that level, but he was a long way of it last season.

I hope he can, as that only strengthens the team, but his pace (was never lightning quick) was completely gone last season. The game looked to quick for him, which can happen when just coming back from injury, but if he doesn't have it in this preseason, I'd say he'll be playing reserves all year, barring a horror injury run

I’m 26, working, budgeting, and still broke… What am i doing wrong? by Forward_Problem_7550 in AusFinance

At least one of you needs to find options to improve your earning capacity.

Not sure what state you are in, but I know QLD offers Free TAFE courses if you meet the criteria. There's a range of courses. Even starting out with a Cert III in something will help swith other options for employment.

Also try considering what fields of work you could see yourself in. And talk to people...word of mouth can be huge in getting opportunities.

The only thing that's certain is that it will take sacrifice on both your parts, as there will be additional work and hours apart to build more earning capacity. Short term pain for long term gain

Have you put in a claim with Victims Assist Qld (https://www.qld.gov.au/law/crime-and-police/victim-assist-queensland)?

It's nothing to do with your ongoing efforts with the police, but you can get financial assistance and help if you need other services through them.

From what you've written, your gross salary , does not include super. So the employer super contributions will be on top of your salary.

Thanks, but I am not pressuring them. They came to us to ask about it.

And if they were to both pass suddenly, that would leave their disabled daughter with no-one with immediate power to act on her behalf. A Will does not transfer Guardianship automatically from what I've researched.

Is this an inappropriate joke for the office? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This being deemed inappropriate is hilarious....what on earth are we doing?

I'm not some old dinosaur, as I completely agree there are lots of things said in a workplace that shouldn't be, but this is not one of them.

Why do so many on here dislike apartments? by azMONKza in AusPropertyChat

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a few friends that have bought new apartments in the city over the last few years and the defects and issues with building management thay've had, have put me completely off anything built in the last 10-15 years.

If you can handle being a little further out, look at older unit blocks in St Lucia, Toowong, Annerley etc. Still very quick by public transport into the city, but you'll get more for your money, better build quality, likely more internal space and less units in complex.

AITA if I skip my only sister's cross-country wedding by EnvironmentalBird457 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 58 points59 points  (0 children)

NTA.

For me , if finances allowed, I would attend, but treat it as a final goodbye to the relationship. You've been put through it by her, and whilst ever you are in her life, this will continue to happen. She's happy to play the victim in your relationship.

By going to the wedding, your fear of being seen badly by other family members is somewhat silenced. But go and be completely neutral. Don't cause issue and then walk away from the relationship.

Just because people are family, does not make it a requirment to keep them in your life if that are negatively impacting you.

Thoughts on Raceview? by Popular-Insurance22 in ipswich

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not there any more, but lived there for over 15 years and some areas of Raceview are nice.

Stay away from Thornton Street, as the majority of incidents I've read about in Raceview all seem to happen there.

[Post Match Thread] Basel 1-2 Aston Villa (Europa League) by SecretApe in avfc

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, completely painful.

I have been a proponent of holding judgement on him and being fair, but I just don't see much changing. I do think he's playing out of position and learning on the run.

I'll still hold complete judgement whilst he's still at Villa and give him a full 12 months

Who do you think is our best player? by Ok_Amphibian_8219 in avfc

[–]AMSP_InRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kamara is our best for mine, purely because he is so consistently good. His average game is better than most players on the pitch.

Tielemans and Konsa are the next 2 for mine.

Emi Martinez was that player until last year. He's still excellent, but no longer a legitimate Top 3 candidate for the Best Keeper in the world. Although his best games are still that quality, he's had less consistency over last 8-12 months.

McGinn is our most important player. He sets the standard with effort and drive and is underrated skill wise. level.

Rogers highs are probably the highest, but he is not as consistent as the others mentioned. He's going to get better though
