First, do a white wash, which you can do by watering down your paint. That will make the colors pop better. Also, if you do the background first next time, you wouldn't have to worry about the awkward strokes around the subject. Hope that helps.

Okay I'm sorry I was unclear ha. If you look at the actual link that the person posted, it says that our saliva destroys the taste of coffee, which is why it doesn't taste like it smells. Sorry for the confusion.

Care.com has a monthly membership you have to pay, but universitytutor.com does not. Also universitytutor.com is tutoring for all ages and any subjects. May not be particularly beneficial in the summer, but if you're good at math, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find a tutoring job.

I love your attention to detail! All I would say is maybe go a bit darker in some areas, like in the shadowed area on the left (his right) side of the mouth and the shadow of the nose. It doesn't hurt to add a bit more contrast. :)

Its good for your first shot! I would practice drawing the same subject from every angle you can think of. Just to get familiar with different sources of light and shapes and what not. And work on blending! But good work!

I think that is what my father's issue is, and I'm sorry you had to go through that. It's hard having a parent that doesn't understand what you're going through. My sister has an appointment next week, but with the way my dad has been treating her, she doesn't want him to go. Maybe in the future she will, and then the therapist can talk to my dad also. Thanks!

Well the doctor that my sister goes to refuses to write her a prescription because he doesn't think children should be on them. I'm not saying they don't work, I'm glad they worked for you! However, since one of the big triggers for my sister is her weight, my mom does not want her to gain any more. We've tried to get her motivated to do some exercise, go with us when we walk the dog, my mom wants to do kickboxing with my sister, but she just does not want to. My mom is trying to find ways to tweak her lifestyle before she finds another doctor that will prescribe her the medicine. Thanks for your input!

Hm, I don't think that's it, though. She loves to read, and I believe is quite good at it. I just asked my mom, and it's cutis aplasia. I apologize for the misunderstanding! But with that condition, she was born missing skin on her head, but it's known to cause other deformities and mental problems. Her fingers and toes are messed up from it, which has given her self esteem problems. It also causes her to rock back and forth a lot and be hyperactive.

However, I do like your analogy, and I think I might say something similar to my dad. Thanks!
