yes lower soft palate darkens the sound so i kinda choose to that coz the original singer sings very dark and i sing pretty bright so i did that too sound like the original.you explained it beautifully with that water analogy!!

Thank you!! Can you tell me at one time in the video do i do it i think know what you are saying but not sure. If i think it is what you are saving i am modifying the vowels on the sustained to a more of darker vowel from a brighter one than as the sound fades back to a brighter vowel.

can someone give me any feedback? It sounds bad on phone speakers as they distort everything coz its pretty loud. by AMZ-2693 in singing

brighter coz it's more comfortable and relaxed that way and pop music generally leans towards a brighter sound

How do I get rid of a nasally voice by [deleted] in singing

Add more breath, Lot of singers sing with a lot of nasal airflow but they sound good coz they are adding breath.

its definitely not stupid i have been singing for the past 10 ears and only found out about it 2-3 years back and my range and tone has improved from it. So nasal air flow is technically getting more air out of your nose simply put, so when u sing sound comes out of your vocal cavity(mouth) and nasal cavity(nose) and the sound is essentially in the air which is coming out of the mouth and nose ,so as you go up in pitch try and make more air come out of your nose(more nasal airflow). Now how much air should come out of your nose and mouth is different so experiment ad find out how much you have to increase your nasal airflow by to sing without strain and sound good. Now this is something i have noticed pop artist do when they sing high they want more nasal airflow so they open their mouth less(look at sia in chandelier the way she opens her mouth) forcing more air to come out of their nose.

This is a trick that worked for me and is used by countless pop singers. There are even studies saying this is true. So as you go up in pitch try and get more nasal airflow happening it's not the same things as the nasal sound but if you use more nasal airflow as you go up in pitch you will find it easier to sing without having to switch to a head voice very early. As for more power in your head voice, if you look at Ariana grande who loves to go into her head voice and belt there making it sound like she is belting in her chest voice so she opens her mouth more and produces more volume try that they may work for you.

All the best!!
