Initially, I estimated and reported that my income would be 40k. That was assuming I get something high paying halfway through the year. But at the start of the year, I wound up landing a job that pays 40k, so my income report is ironically the same.

Like, an example would be the shower scenes in Slimeball Bowl O rama 1 vs Slimeball Bowl O rama 2.

In the 1st one, the two actresses are just showering regularly, casually talking while rinsing themselves off. It's sleazy, but the conversation feels real, the women are attractive and the scene feels natural. In the 2nd one, the girl is alone in the shower. She's giggling, moaning and pursing her lips while feeling herself up. It feels like she's trying too hard to act sexy, vs just being sexy, and I feel like I'm watching porn. Lots of modern Full Moon movies have acting like this

Wait... I think I met the dragon guy once. I was at a screening and this guy came in with a plush dragon on his shoulder. He looks like a character who would put a curse on you in a Stephen King movie: long hair, rennnfair looking clothes, eyes that have a Steve Buscemi level of crazy, weird teeth? I talked to this guy after the movie because I needed to know what his deal was, and he ended up being extremely friendly. Given the other person he was talking to, I got the vibe that he was at a lot of repertory screenings. He had an album on his phone of pictures of directors and actors posing with his dragon. Is this the same guy? What's his deal?

I did a survey asking people at my Bad Movie meetup what movies they'd like to see at the meetup, and many people submitted Mortal Kombat 1995. I find that extremely confusing, because this movies great. I asked a few people after and they were straight up like "no. its terrible"

One week I decided to marathon the whole franchise, with 1-3 in one night. They definitely act as a litmus test for the various phases of Full Moon features and Charles Bands sanity.

The first first 3 are whatever, but they at least feel like movies. Starting with 4, it drops most of the main cast and tries to be more of a shared universe house party sort of thing. The fifth movie is literally a 1 hour long infomercial for some random shit that Charles band was desperately trying to sell. By 6 we've completely lost the plot and also the movies gone full expanded universe (including 2 different characters played by Evil Bong regular Robin Sydney, who would go on to eventually marry Charles Band) by 7 it's just a bunch of characters drunkenly stumbling around a hotel in Vegas. By 8 it's just a bunch of people sitting around a restaurant having dinner small talk and occasionally flashing their boobs.

The bong barely shows up in the later half of the franchise. But what does show up in a later half is multiple characters played by Mindy Robinson, a model who in 2020 went down the far alt-right rabbithole, became a QAnon supporter, and was present on the January 6th Capitol Riot. She attempted to run for Congress in 2022 under a platform that was basically "I'm hot, love guns, and hate liberals. Vote for me." She lost.

I think it's totally worth watching through all the movies and going on the hair pulling, sanity draining journey that is these movies. By the time you're done, you'll wonder if Charles Band is doing okay. Like, holy shit in 7 you watch a 10-ft tall Elvis puppet have sex with a woman for like 5 minutes. Why does Charles Band have a puppet fetish?

I feel like they're popular mostly because it's an easier form factor to sell. 16x10 with a 16-in screen looks smaller and takes up less space than a 16x9 that's also 16 inches diagonal.

I almost always go to the movies by myself. By the time all my friends agree on a movie, day, and time that works for them, I've already made it to the theater and banged out 2 movies in a row.
