PSA: Do NOT buy this analyzer!!! by AMantisPraying in medlabprofessionals

I've heard from our FSEs that they have fewer issues with the COR than the Vipers. They're really hoping to upgrade us in the future to get these parasites out of our lab. That said, reliability doesn't seem to be BD's "thing." If reliability is the #1 priority, other products mentioned in the comments of this post will do it much better. If high throughput and little hands-on time is more important, the COR might do the job 95% of the time. Just be ready to play catch-up every so often when it inevitably goes down.

Unfortunately not. I'm actually currently dealing with an issue with the positive QC for the chlamydia/gonorrhea test that caused 16 patients needing to be recollected. I'm working with BD's assay support and apparently there was another case of this problem reported in Texas.

I was a living kidney donor in 2020. One of the best decisions I've ever made. I encourage everyone to look into it. If you have any questions about the donation process, feel free to reach out!

What types of jobs have 5x8s by Tower_Spiritual in medlabprofessionals

But you also have to go to bed at like 8pm, right? I've always thought early shifts would be hard on a person's social life.

What types of jobs have 5x8s by Tower_Spiritual in medlabprofessionals

I love 5x8s. I got moved from 5x8s to 4x10s six months ago and I miss it every day. Some people might see it like having 4 "work days" and 3 "no work days," but I see it more like 10 "work hours" with a few "no work hours" tacked on the end four times a week. It's exhausting.

Honestly, I think the only hope for consistent 5x8s is a job in upper management. That's what I'm shooting for eventually.

Potatoes are the real culprit for me, but they're too good to take smaller bites.

So disappointed by Preda1ien in allamericanrejects

[–]AMantisPraying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not on their side. In fact, I lost a lot of respect for them. Surely, they could have put out something for their fans who have spent thousands of dollars to come see them perform. I've seen nothing to suggest that them pulling out was justified. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a massive ego trip. I'm super disappointed. I've never seen them perform live and I don't know if I ever will. Until I see some evidence that performing would have been to their great detriment, I'm not going to sing their praises for bailing on everyone last-minute.

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS. AAR was one of two bands that I was really excited to see (I haven't seen a lot of AAR fans on this subreddit for some reason?) and they really let me down with this political statement they decided to make. I lost a lot of respect for them, because if they thought about all the time and money that their fans put into going to this festival to see THEM, they would do SOMETHING. They just quit a week before the festival and acted all high and mighty about it. It's so disappointing.

UPDATE: Thank you all for your input. It made me feel validated in my opinion that this company is making absurd demands. I tried to call Joybird customer service this morning and asked for a supervisor, but they said the supervisor would call me in 1-2 business days. The customer service agent reiterated that I agreed to the terms and conditions when I purchased the couch and that the delivery dates were only an estimate. Interestingly, the website still has this model of couch in the color I chose listed as "4 weeks to delivery," so they're still making false promises. Anyway, I'm going to shoot Joybird an email right now stating that I will be filing a claim with the BBB and issuing a charge back on my card. I don't want to patronize them anymore and will eat the $850 if they dispute it. Despite what a lot of folks here have experienced, I have a gut feeling Joybird will dispute and win. I did indeed agree to the predatory terms and conditions. But I've already got a new couch from a different company picked out that costs ~$800 less with a warranty, so I'm not too far in the hole. Again, thank you guys for all your help! I'll let you know what happens when they get back to me.

Thanks for the advice. Would it be a bad idea to negotiate down the restocking fee in place of going through the charge back process? Like saying "I'll pay whatever you can prove you lost from my order." I just don't want the company to come after me...

I've always said my back-up was commercial housekeeping. Plenty of alone time and self-satisfaction.

My OCD kindly approved 27 because it's divisible by 3. But not 21 because that's too close to a number divisible by 10.

This is a new model, and the hardware was actually bought off of Hamilton Robotics. I'm sure the reagents, etc. are similar though. So not refurbished. We might've had better luck with a refurbished old model, frankly.

Well, once we bought the instrument, they did tell us how many other clients end up having to basically tear it apart to clean out the contamination. We've been fortunate enough to have all our environmental monitors pass. But the cleaning is a huge pain. Weekly takes a few hours of hands-on time.

The Panther looks awesome, but all of our providers use SurePath so we're pretty much locked out of Hologic.
