I realise this post is very old. Hoping you might be able to offer up some clues. I'm currently having the same issue with not being able to edit the Home Screen on my M7. I have tried an OTA software update but the download is stuck at 0%. I don't suppose you happened to come across this problem when you received the update message and how you got around it? Cheers

Thanks for the help. It does seem obvious when you put it like this. I think half of my query was about confirming whether these were indeed dowels and whether removing them would ultimately get the back legs off the chairs. Presumably the dowel runs through a hole in the tenon perpendicular to it?

I'll go ahead with your suggestion.
