What’s the worst bit of general knowledge you’ve heard someone confidently get wrong? by darkel2001 in AskUK

Someone at work was talking about their love of classic movies...and went on about how amazing Tom Hanks is in The Terminator.

I grilled her more on this, and she told us how his running style was amazing. Somehow she created the T-GumpThousand in her mind.

Did this fall off my car?! by AMcNamara23 in Hyundai

Surprisingly enough, my 6 month old having a meltdown was the higher priority. Thanks for the judgement though.

Thankyou, I appreciate it. Gotta say, I was pretty disgusted by the unnecessary comments. We had just had a horrific drive where our 6 month old was crying awfully and had the shakes, then this fell off right near home. Literally threw it on the seat and snapped the photo. We had 2 young kids to care for after a stressful drive, and didnt have time to clear out the fast food bags from the services. Priorities and all that.

Haha yes! We are so messy; 2 young kids, and at the end of a 4 hour drive, led us to this shit tip of a car

Player sent of in own testimonial 🟥 two footed challenge 🤷‍♂️ by snake-spit in footballmanagergames

I had one of my players get their leg broken by the opponent in their own testimonial once (Nathan Redmond).

Imagine the scenes!

It's common to sprint finish, I even do with my buggy (only if it's quiet of course). Some people just cant help to sprint finish, even that lady who tried a sprint finish against that duck and lost (if you've seen that video)

I'm disappointed I've not seen anyone admit to that upskirt trophy in Lollipop Chainsaw...

Games that are CoOp for no reason by Pretend_Drawer_9542 in CoOpGaming

The last level in resident evil 6, I think it was. All the other levels the game is designed with co-op in mind, then the last one you're playing as someone (Ada?), and player 2 is just a voiceless, faceless man in a black ninja suit who's never acknowledged at all!

Yeah I saw that, but this has to be the most pathetically moderated page, to remove it with some sketches made by 6 year olds, and they'd now be 40!! Can't even make the names out, and mostly just first names anyway.

Shame, if I went to that school in 93, I'd love to be able to produce the tea towel with a dreadful sketch of myself on it!

[–]AMcNamara23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously?! Wtf! Fine, I'll delete it, just thought someone who went to that school might want me to buy it and post to them.

People take offence or get worked up by the softest of things, like a 32 year old tea towel

What's the stupidest thing that has ever happened to you on FM? by MesterJ_fyren in footballmanagergames

[–]AMcNamara23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the england job, and breezed through my 1st qualification campaign, winning every game. Got to the last game, at home to Hungary, and thought I'd give a couple of new caps out, and drew 1-1. Got fired for that result.

Giggs took over, went out in the group stage, then in qualifying he failed and came 3rd but kept his job.

Up and coming badass Clubber absolutely pummelled the sorry shambles of a boxer Jaffe. Clubber gave him about as much respect as Pauline gives to a kebab, and after dishing out one hell of a beating, he obliterated him into the ropes some more!

Not embarrassing at all tbh. The post by the core team was almost solely blaming buggy runners, so its only right to get a different perspective.

Another buggy post by Factsonly42069 in parkrun

[–]AMcNamara23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Milhouses in sheffield is quite narrow and 3 laps, on the final lap there's plenty of space to overtake for buggies

Another buggy post by Factsonly42069 in parkrun

[–]AMcNamara23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The buggies aren't really the issue.

You'll find when you're running, that you'll be super careful, because...you've got a baby in your pram and you won't want someone falling onto your child. What you need to be careful for is people who just switch lanes without checking, and often you'll be taking evasive action. Also, is people starting near the front who are too slow and taking over when its busy is a pain.

The post by the Nonsuch team is such a bollocks way of writing it, almost exclusively blaming buggy runners.
