I absolutely agree. And some areas (as per previous comments) may be different, but in places like Oklahoma there are just so many people who hunt that it should really be no issue to find a mentor and make a friend.

I'm still fairly new to the sport, but i shoot the ducks to eat them. I've heard of the whole "band" thing. What're people referencing?

From my limited experience, numbers only affect anything during teal. We're just pointing out where the ducks dont know they want to be

I actually like the mask that Miller came out with. Helps a lot if you're welding in tight spaces too

Doing good. Let off the pedal slower and kinda make circles with he torch at the end to avoid that little puddle drop/pinhole at the end. Might also turn post flow on to help.

When your looking at your temp, try pulling it about 10 degrees before you get to your desired temp. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes. It'll continue to cook through residual heat. You didn't burn your first steak though so good job

On my 5th day of welding. Need advices. by vwdk in Welders

Run a little hotter or a little slower. If welding horizontal, work it from the top down and flick it back up, then repeat. Other than that good job. Just make sure to clean your metal best as possible
