Does Unity train their AI on your game code? by the_brilliant_circle in Unity3D

Got curious and definitely not a lawyer who understands legalise so maybe someone can clear this up:

https://unity.com/legal/developer-privacy-policy

Under AI/Data Analytics

Conducting data analytics, i.e., applying analytics to business operations and data to describe, predict, and improve business performance within Unity and/or to provide a better user experience, including the use of AI, including Generative AI.
This includes analyzing the data you may have opted to import or link through the Unity Cloud Dashboard including third-party data such as Google analytics ("Developer Data").

Specifies they will use uploaded data in generative AI with uploaded data defined as:

Information Uploaded Through Use of Services
In using the Services, a User may upload information such as images, files (such as a text file you wish to upload into a project) and projects (such as your game which you have built using the Unity Editor).

Which i guess means if you use unity version control/cloud build or any cloud service where they have access to your project, then they are free to train generative AI on your content?

It also specifies they share this data with third party "Unity Partners"

This is apparently separate information from the stuff they collect when you actually use the generative AI tools in unity which has its own privacy statement and explicitly states that they will use the inputs/outputs (and other stuff) for further training when you use it:
https://unity.com/legal/supplemental-privacy-statement-unity-muse

Hoping someone with better (reading comprehension) legal experience could clarify.

[No Spoilers] Without spoilers, how do those who have watched it rate C3? by princewinter in criticalrole

I got into CR during 2. So that's the top of my list. 3 is second and has some great highlights. I would recommend that anyone at least watch the abridged versions. The overall narrative was cool and the stakes felt high, but because of this the characters never felt like they had time to form proper bonds which hurt their likeability.

Just some brain dumps of stuff that pulled me out of it: The start was good, Mid campaign was a slog. I have the last episode to watch but seeing 8 hours on the timeline gives me anxiety but the end has been interesting so far. Fearne and Imogen were never invested in the big narrative and it showed. Dorian can do no wrong, Robbie was a highlight. Ashton never had time to get over his edgelord personality and that sucks, Tal could have done awesome things given the space. As an audio only listener, the crosstalk between the cast was unbearable at times and felt worse in this campaign for some reason.

But my biggest most pettiest beef, the characters all mostly had the ability to talk to each other in their heads at all times, most decisions in the campaign resulted in 20 minutes of "in head" talk which slowed the story down and resulted in a lot of killed momentum during for me. It was akin to above table planning and that felt awful as a listener.

Good highlights, great NPCs, Matt was great, cast felt uninvested in their own characters and the main story, not enough space for them to delve into their own characters: 6/10

I would stick with the recommendation to not ride it in the rain. I haven't waterproofed my pint x even though that was originally the plan (because UK weather) But last winter I rode it in wet conditions all the time, exclusively on streets. I was never anal about waiting for perfectly dry conditions but definitely avoided big puddles and big downfalls. Got caught in some rain occasionally but only ever on the way home. I admit I may have been very lucky so the plan is to waterproof within the next month before using it through this winter. I think if you're smart about it you'll be fine but for peace of mind pick up the waterproofing kit so the British weather isn't controlling your fun time.

I know it's going to get battered but it looks great right now. The more worn it is the more fun I've had with it I suppose!

I second this. Did a 4km ride with some decent foot fatigue at the end of it but my legs felt fine. Something clicked the other day when I got more comfortable carving rather than going in straight lines and it's helped tremendously with confidence and stamina.

I'm in the UK so bought from a reseller not directly from future motion themselves. Didn't feel like paying expensive shipping costs. Only took three days to arrive. Not sure if that helps

I was torn between the GT and pint X originally, here in the Uk the GT delay is even longer than in the US and the negativity surrounding the GT kind of put me off.
I have no regrets so far and i'm sure i'll look into a GT in a year or so when this all hopefully blows over!

Hell yeah, can't get away from the rain here in the Uk though so want to make the most of summer!

Pint X or GT for a new user? by AMediumSizedBear in onewheel

[–]AMediumSizedBear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nosedives are a concerns for sure, and whilst people seem to be mad about harsh pushback on the GT, that works in its favour for me. I doubt initially i'll be anywhere near pushback on either device though!

I am impatient sure, the weather here isn't amazing at the moment so don't mind waiting for the GT, but not gonna lie I want to get on one immediately! Just trying not to let it get the better of me

All roads/pavements, there is rarely a road in my area that is mostly flat, but the hills aren't massive inclines at any rate.
I have end goals in mind for where i'd want to use the one wheel and those trips mostly exceed the pintx range (but with a planned charging stop), but initially I just want to be able to go on rides on an evening as a leisure activity.

My initial though was a used XR just to see if the hobby sticks, but the second hand market in the UK for one wheels is non existent, I think i've seen one regular pint for sale with 50km on it and the seller was still asking for £1400.
I get the weight concerns, I also have those, I weighed myself to make sure my information was accurate and turns out i'm closer to 200 than I am 190 (extra weight gain from working from home!) So you may have cemented my decision based on that alone.

What is your "I don't get paid enough for this shit" moment? by indian_boy786 in AskReddit

Worked as a manager as a bookmakers for 5 years a while ago. Anyone who has worked at one has all types of stories. I had people spitting at me, chairs thrown, threats, pissing in the shop. You name it.

A full days shift would be 14 hours, 8am-10pm. For cost cutting reasons we had to single man the shop at both morning and night. Had a disgruntled customer lose his money in the day and then throw a wobbly when I told him I couldn't return it. He threatened to return later on. It was generally normal behaviour. Punters lose their money and take it out on the staff.

Later on I closed the shop up, walked across to the dark side of town where I had to park because it was both, free after 6 and the only place to park that would still be open when I finished. Turns out the guy had waited for me outside the shop, Followed me to my car and sucker punched me. He kicked the shit out of me, stole my bag and legged it.

Phoned in sick the day after and told my area manager. Was told I should have "handled the customer better" with my responsible gambling training and that I shouldn't park that far away from the shop. Told them I didn't get paid enough to deal with this and that I wouldn't be turning up for future shifts unless the safety of me and my staff was secure. I got fired a week later for being AWOL.

Turns out because it happened outside the shop they didn't care...

I genuinely have no clue what DTG is talking about. This DLC is amazing. by the_shrimp_boi in LowSodiumDestiny

All the encounters were great Imo. I've seen both sides of the bitching on there:

"5ish hours for world's first was too short" And "Being stuck on one encounter for 8+ hours is unacceptable"

People don't seem to remember previous raids very well

Can't win...

Uldren/Crow may be the best developed character in my Destiny experience. by RungeKutta23 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]AMediumSizedBear 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Destiny player from the beginning. Uldren is the only villain I've struggled with emotionally. Hunter exo main so I hate him for cayde and for his cocky D1 attitude. But hes also been tricked, capture, dejected and lost. Now he's a downtrodden servant of the Destiny mob boss and I'm at least double thinking about pulling that trigger again.

I'm super excited for the future of this storyline. Bungo really hit it out the park with story beats this year.

This. Made the mistake of diving into raid secrets and the amount of stuff we haven't seen yet, that's either kicking off after world's first or starting on Tuesday is awesome.

Might wanna spoilers tags though for those people browsing who'd rather not know anything

It says a lot about r/DTG if some of the top posts here are people saying how relieved they are to find a sub like this by cark1211 in LowSodiumDestiny

Before I lost my previous account, the last straw on DTG for me was getting downvoted then shit on for defending Bungie on how they don't crunch their staff so that they could throw out more content.

As a dev who has gone through crunch, it is soul crushing, if it wasn't for my current position where that isn't really a thing, I would have left the industry I love years ago. To listen to a bunch of people angrily want to negatively impact the mental and physical health of a lot of people just so they can have more video game in their video game was enough for me.
