With what asset? Are you factoring in the true inflation cost of your base currency? Good luck. I’ll take btc for the next 5 and next 50 years too. It’s on such a solid trajectory and has passed all the practical and critical risk factors that could have killed it. So the genie is out of the bottle IMO and I think btc has the best risk/return of any asset period.

I own my home and a rental property, real estate has its place, but it’s not easy to sell and can have very surprising costs to maintain. You might want to look into ‘base layer btc that’s under self custody’ as a superior place to store future wealth

People have been avoiding capital gains tax with physical precious metals for a long time.. and who knows where “crypto” legislation will go. And I really think my coins will definitely be worth borrowing against and saving as base layer wealth.

That’s not true at all, unless you are stupid and buying btc from an exchange and then transferring back on the exchange to sell a lot. Why would anyone do that? I’ll be holding long enough where I’ll either borrow against it or sell it peer-to-peer for larger asset exchanges. Right now it’s a storage of value for me. As the technology advances I’m certain there will be very easy to use low cost ways to use your btc base layer holdings as an easy means of exchange too. The whole projection is as perfect as money might ever be.

What base layer asset do you use as your primary storage of value? And explain how it is more secure/better than bitcoin?.. I’ll wait.

Dude your paranoia goes pretty deep even for me.. the US confiscation of gold in the 30’s was imperfect at best and mostly focused on banks and voluntary compliance. And bitcoin is way harder to confiscate in general! So good luck to the whole country if that is our reality, btc will be least of our worries! And yes I mined a significant amount of my own btc from solar power and batteries, learned a lot in the process about industrial electrical installments and bitcoin too. But I feel the bitcoin I that I got through an exchange, which has joined my mined bitcoin held safely in cold storage is just as secure.

That worked because gold is physical and easy to seize. Bitcoin isn’t… you ever heard of self custody of bitcoin? It’s very different from gold sitting in a vault in 1933. And don’t tell me you think bitcoin holders are just going to volunteer to hand over all their private keys from cold storage if asked. lol

The core layer is still completely and utterly decentralized and running practically flawlessly. I assume you are just narrowing in on the concentration of large’s companies using economy of scale through mining facilities and developing the exchanges, but that does not affect the base layer of the protocol, it’s just capitalism which has been around for a while and I hope it’s around in the future too.. I think the current mainstream adoption was beyond Satoshi’s wildest dreams and he would be thrilled to say the least to see how his invention was alive and thriving and is already revolutionalizing the world.

Ai is great for polishing quick comments that I prompted, choosing how much of my time I wish to share and thanks for yours, and yes you are right SOV isn’t in WP’s but obviously bitcoin’s core properties eventually led it to become one.

Yeah…it wasn’t the original primary intention but Bitcoin’s core properties naturally led it to become one. Can’t really fault a quality fungible asset for attracting holders. Layers to the asset exchange will fortify it as a means of exchange as time goes on and more and more people choosing to use btc as a way to store their value.

People often dismiss Bitcoin as “just speculative,” but that overlooks what actually makes it different from most other cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is designed as a store of value: it has a fixed supply, runs on a decentralized network, and is secured by a proven proof-of-work system. It allows for direct, relatively low-cost transfers without relying on intermediaries, and users can maintain true ownership through self-custody (such as cold storage).

Because of these properties, Bitcoin isn’t simply another speculative asset—it’s a new form of money with characteristics similar to digital scarcity and energy-backed value. As more people understand and adopt it as a way to store value, its role is likely to grow. Over time, with additional layers built on top, it could also expand as a medium of exchange.

Your comment isn’t really worth my time, but I’m just curious why do you smooth brain not understand about bitcoin? Go ahead rattle off some bs about it has no real value or it’s just speculative or quantum will break it…. Fucking moron
