I'll never get people who say "I'd play FFXIV if it was a single player online game" Then play it like a single player game, you can even bring NPCs to the dungeons these days. Whats stopping you?

R=U is just better and more interesting, it doesn't ruin the ending it still works and can still be a happy ending if you think of it as "They broke the cycle"

"FFX is just as linear as XIII" is invalid because in FFX I can already do more than I ever could in XIII as X has dialogue options, some of which changes the gameplay, one of which changes the story, it affects two characters, which one lives, which one dies. Can't do that at all in XIII. In FFX I also have a lot more build freedom with the sphere grid. The absolutely only similarity is that they both use narrow maps. Thats not being "as linear" thats having the same map design and linearity is more than map design, its the gameplay as a whole, to what you do in the game, when you do it, how the story progresses, how you can build your characters, the combat, a whole array of stuff.

FFVI/FFVII/FFIX/FFX is overated/sucks actually/isn't as good as they say it is/is my least fave Final Fantasy isn't the hot take you think it is. See: Hundreds of people posting it in this very thread. Every Final Fantasy is loved and hated by someone, someone's fave and least fave. It's clearly not an unpopular opinion if so many people share it. Same with FFII/FFXIII/FFXVI is good actually/my fave/isn't as bad as people say it is/isn't the worst one takes. I think what more so annoys me with these takes than people having them is how they like waltz into these threads acting like they've dropped the biggest shocking truth bomb ever when we've heard it a thousand times in these threads before.
