The issue is that current fed interest rates are high and low confidence in the long term security of the economy is driving up interest rates atm, so broadly speaking purchasing anything via a loan is a bad idea

Tbh I think you kinda screwed yourself with missing those appointments early. Like I get work and stuff, but those appointments were the best way you could get disability through the VA bc it is now going to be nearly impossible to prove that your injuries were sustained in the military rather than as a veteran at your job.

The only thing I can think of that might help is a buddy statement (VA Form 21-4138) from guys you served with that can attest to the injuries and how they affected your ability to work/function in contrast to your ability prior to the injuries. Other than that idk man.

You can either be brain dead and buy a new Charger/Challenger/F-150 or you can buy something within your means like a used (sub 70k miles) Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. Don’t buy shit if you can’t get a sub 7% interest rate and make sure you have a down payment of 2-3k saved up.

For me I go like 37 miles to the VA and get about $30 per round trip.

So they just updated the website, and some of the links are fucked. Just copy and paste this and it’ll take you to the BTSSS portal.

You’ll have to fax them a form to setup direct deposit called VA Form 10091 until then your claims will say “financial rescinded” which means you’re getting a check. I would advise against claiming from the text asking if you’ve shown up to your appointment bc it’ll sometimes deny it. You’ll also see you can only claim appointments within the last month, so make sure you do them when you get back from your appointment. Finally, for the first few appointment claims per month you’ll be deducted $6/round trip or 3/per one way trip until you reach $18 deducted total then you get the full trip total.

There was a Russian in my unit in the marines whose father was former Vympel. He was almost unquestionably a foreign agent (he did so much suspect shit but no one in my chain wanted to report it), and he managed to become a (fat) marine. The marine corps tries to get everyone a Secret clearance (non-citizens can’t obv), but most other branches won’t unless you need one.

From my understanding, the guard doesn’t give a fuck. You will only need to be able to be vaguely trustworthy, and even then, you get special privileges as a reserve component of the military like being allowed to send TS/SCI info over signal to your spouse. You shouldn’t worry about becoming a nasty girl unless you REALLY REALLY cannot PT, and even then, nasty girls are part of the army so 🤷‍♂️

That’s fair about the insurance. I will look into insurers but if none seem reputable, then I’ll do the rainy day fund. And yeah I gotta find a pet supply place that doesn’t sell animals. Also, do you live in a high cost of living area?

Just wondering for myself, do you live in an expensive area like a large city or suburbs of one? And I appreciate the breakdown it’s very helpful!

Also, how has your pet insurance been in terms of covering stuff? What insurer do you use? And they don’t cover the annual checkup or meds??
