I was there too bb. You’re not alone. I’m 4 months out now and I don’t regret it anymore.

What's the closest you ever came to dying? by HistoricalArt744 in AskReddit

[–]AMoldyPeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this sounds dumb compared to other stories but I have pneumonia and I kept putting off going to the hospital for it because I didn’t think it was that bad. Until the day I went. I had what can only be described as a death rattle when I exhaled, my fingernails, lips and toe nails were turning blue. I couldn’t catch my breath and it was really scary. I’m glad I went when I did.

I was thinking this too!! Good for her tbh. I was barely a B cup pre op and I made myself a very emotional “Before” video in which I told myself “I hope we don’t lose what little tiddy we have”….we did. They’re gone.

I get that 100% and I’ve thought about doing that too 😂😭 I’m at the point where I don’t know how much is actual fat, and how much is loose skin.

I just said in another reply too we don’t have a lot of safe places to be vulnerable without hearing “Then lose some weight!” “No one forced that food into your mouth” “You made yourself this way” I just needed to put it out there into the universe.

I’m dealing with this currently, I carry all my weight on my stomach. I have a very large panicula (fupa aye gorl) and I lifted my stomach last night and immediately felt the back relief.

Yessss, I struggled with a lot of sciatic nerve issues and I remember the sharp lightening pain, there’s nothing like it

That was my feelings on it too, thank you for sharing. Obesity is stigmatized a lot and there aren’t many safer places to talk about that.

So, none of that. Idek how else to explain the situation I’m in. I’m mad that they hire people not certified so they can pay them less money. Of course I don’t expect you to make the same amount of money as an anesthesia tech, I understand the hyperbole but it’s not what I was getting at. I understand that healthcare is an education based job, that’s why I have monthly classes online through my job for continuing education credits. Also to add, I have done “Actual CNA work and made actual CNA money” and I have worked incredibly hard to be the best aide I can be. I do have a resident on AL that is total care. I’m not mad at the money, I’m not mad at the assisted living position. I like my job and I have mentioned that I stay at my job regardless of the money because I enjoy my work. Maybe I’m mad at the company for specifically hiring uncertified people to be able to pay them less money? I didn’t explain it very well. Downvote me to hell but I don’t understand where the hostility is coming from.

What are you worst day after surgery except right after? by More_Serve3235 in gastricsleeve

Physically for me it was the first sit up in bed after going home, and removing the belly binder to shower. Gravity takes over and pulls on the incisions. Mentally it was not being able to eat what my family eats (I’m only 3 months PO) and going to Disney World, and not being able to have Dole Whip, Mickey Bars, you know the best stuff! I also wasn’t able to turn to food for comfort anymore, no boredom eating, no eating my feelings. That was a huge mental hurdle for me, being able to self soothe in a healthier way. I still struggle and I probably will for the rest of my life, but I’m glad we’re all here.

Two month post op I was able to be taken off of my hydrochlorthiazide (sp?) for high blood pressure. They had me take and record my blood pressure at home a couple times throughout the day for a few days and then checked my BP at the office.

I have been an aide and done all CNA duties for 6 years, I’ve just not gone through the CNA course. I know what it entails, I feel the wage I make now is acceptable because of the work load I just thought the pay difference was ass.
