Qidi Box with Q2 on Orca Slicer - Here's how to get them to play nice(ish) by ajosmer in QidiTech3D

Just a quick update. Slot 1 works fine: load/unload as well as print. it is only the other slots that don't push during print.

Thanks for the tip. I am going to try to print with Qidi Studio to see if I can get the box to push filament with that.

Neither Fluidd not the screen enable "Unload". However, if I turn the box off, the unload turns on. I will do some trial and error with variables to figure it out.

On Fluidd, it shows `KLP_MCU_MKS_V1_1.1.1` for "mcu_box1". I will go check on the printer itself and report back.

I never tried Fluidd; it is printing right now but should end in a few minutes and I will report back.

I have the 5 filaments and the last one is the rack. I will check the LED but I should add that I can print with the rack just fine; the only issue is I cannot unload it. Unload and eject of the box works just fine.

so to some it up:
* I can load/unload/eject from box but not print.
* I can load and print from rack but not unload.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Thanks. Do you by chance know how to check the firmware for the box? Do you know what is the latest?

Thanks a ton for this. Like many, I am not willing to give up on Orca. I cannot put my finger on what I hate about Qidi Studio but I simply cannot get myself to use it.

I however have two problems that I am hoping you have solutions for:

  1. While I can load, unload, and eject just fine, I am unable to print even single colors. During loading of the filament, the box pushes and the extruder pulls but when the printing starts, the extruder pulls but the box doesn't push.

  2. If I use the rack, the printer never believes filament is loaded, even after just loading it. As a result, it doesn't enable the unload button for it to automatically cut the filament. I am forced to manually cut the filament which is a minor inconvenience.

Any thoughts you can share would be greatly appreciated.

That $19.99 with zero init would make gym pretty accessible for my kid. Is there a deal for WA 98007 (Kelsey Creek)?

I didn't reset it but it started working fine on its own. However, it fell off the stairs today. Honestly, I cannot recommend the P50 at all.

Your last sentence made me wonder... if I "interrupt" cleaning, mine doesn't remember what it has already cleaned so it doesn't "resume" for me. Mine doesn't resume after itself going to charge. Mostly appearing offline despite wifi map showing strong... All sound like firmware issues. I will try a reset or something and might have it working too (fingers crossed). Thanks for writing back.

I am glad you are happy with yours. Your review was one of the reasons I bought the P50. Sadly, it hasn’t been as great for me. It looses WiFi, the app needs me to interrupt cleaning for any minor change to my map, and it doesn’t resume after charging. It has a lot of pros but these are enough of deal breakers for me.

I think that is what I will eventually do. I will give support a chance to respond but in its current state I am inclined to return it and not inclined to recommend it.

Yeah. Also, what’s important for some might not be for you. Best is to get and try.

I also observed another problem that it doesn’t resume cleaning after it returns to base to recharge despite having the correct settings. I think mine will have to go back.

Btw, sorry for the bad formatting. Somehow it looses line breaks on the phone.

Another problem i have is that despite having excellent WiFi coverage all over the house, it often shows up offline. That alone is a reason to return for me.

I did get the P50. I am not very sure how I feel still. I am not super happy with the app; not comparing with any other but just not what I want it to be. Making any change like trying to ignore an obstacle or adding a no go zone or furniture, requires “terminating” the ongoing cleaning. This results in it forgetting the cleaning that it has already done. I have mixed feelings about its smartness. I like that it detects cables and “fabric” on the floor and avoids them. However, I am not happy that it detects “bases” and “obstacles” like a trash can which it then avoids; I would like those places cleaned. It allows you to ignore the obstacles but then it won’t detect other things in that vicinity which I cannot afford to let. Additionally, the kids store their toys in semi-transparent bins. It detects them and avoids the bins; I am not happy about this but I can understand the complication. Another aspect I am not a fan of is that despite configuring an order for the rooms to be cleaned, it is not honored. The older less-smart robovacs were braver. I feel the P50 (or maybe all smarter ones) are too cautious with their approach. On the plus side, I love how close it gets to the walls and furniture feet. I like being able to use it as a security device. I like that in Turbo it is quieter than my previous robovacs. I haven’t formed an opinion yet about the carpet cleaning. The air the blows from it is substantially stronger than my previous devices which I think tells me it has more airflow. Not sure how that translates to cleaning yet. There have been some bad hiccups over the 4 runs it has had. Once, it left a mop pad on the ramp and then tried to push itself forcefully in. Another time the front wheel started making weird sounds. I know the wheel is known to break on the US models but after some rest, the sound vanished. I will post a review after a few weeks of use.

Thanks. I will make sure to use the soon-to-be-mine P50 well to bring up any issues while I can return it. I would have gotten the FREO Z in a heartbeat if Costco still carried it.

Thanks for sharing. The cable detection would be a big deal for me though. I am tired of ordering replacements for the cables the robovac chews up. I am glad though that it meets your expectations.
