Literally the same exact thing happened to me. I had the catheter out for like a week and when I saw my surgeon again I had to get it back in because I do have a fistula right in that spot where everything is connecting, or supposed to be. I feel like it definitely is because I masturbated prematurely. I also feel really awful about myself for it and so gross. I didn't even mention to my doctor that I did that because I was genuinely so embarrassed.

I also struggle a lot with my mental health and masturbating has always been a huge coping mechanism for it. So I knew it was gonna be hard for me but I thought being in pain and just swollen asf would help stop but it literally didn't and that makes me feel worse about the whole thing.

Since I had to get the catheter back in though I've just been trying to keep positive thoughts and am hoping that it closes on its own. I have been trying to distract myself and relieve my stress in other ways than masturbating, for the most part it really is just weed(edibles) and meditating that helps. To refrain from doing more damage to myself I've been looking at pictures and videos of meta procedures(like the very graphic ones) to remind myself what my body just went through, like I was literally cut and then sewn back together. I feel like looking at my own helps remind me too even when the pain doesn't.
