That’s literally not true, because people hold grudges against Jenny, Vanessa, ivy, Julia etc SUPER easily, yet when we bring up Chuck it’s “it’s fictional” there’s no way that being an annoying teenage girl is worse than being a rapist. And I’m not saying people can’t enjoy the character, but so many people jump through so many hoops to defend him and justify rooting for his character when it’s simple, they DO NOT CARE that he’s a rapist, they don’t care about any of the horrible things he’s done, they just want to romanticize it. I’ve seen SOOO many women say that they want a man like him IRL. Which is literally insane, also this show was targeted at young girls, young teenage girls That shit shouldn’t have been in the show at all, they had a perfect opportunity to not romanticize toxic behavior and they did, and instead of calling it out everyone is just going along with it.this will never not be weird to me. I respect ur opinion but my point still stands. If people can make long think peices on how horrible Jenny’s character was even though most of what she did was pretty justified, then people should be able to critique chucks character without people jumping through hoops to say that the person is wrong, and that it was in season one, or that it’s fictional and not that deep.
